Which is why WPVP was only a small part of the vanilla experience. BGs have reigned supreme as the go to PvP experience throughout the history of WoW.
Both retail and classic are having balance issue. You can’t do nothing as alliance when you get jump by so many god damn horde in world pvp. If it wasn’t for warmode to turn on and off. I would quit the game in bfa year ago. Now for classic and in pvp as alliance you are screwed. It no fun when you get camped and can’t do nothing against that many.
Phase 2 isn’t killing my classic.
Im on a PvE server. I had the sense to roll where I could choose to PvP when and if I wanted to.
YOU killed your classic experience by rolling on a PvP server. Congrats to you
World pvp as it is now is not at all classic either but whatever this phase wont last long and then horde will cry because their bg ques are 3x longer than alliance
Nah, all people have to do is re-roll onto a PvP server as the dominating faction. That way, they get the PvP experience they were after, whilst being able to do PvE in peace.
How can you guys be so obtuse that quantity doesn’t factor in at all? There is a difference between a plate of mash potatoes and drowning in a swimming pool of it.
Except that pool of mashed potatoes is spread over two continents. I agree 100% if the horde v alliance is skewed HUGELY in one favor. Like 20% plus. But anything else is fine. My server the horde out number us, and its not a problem.
Don’t listen to those elitist trolls that probably don’t even PVP.
The concensus between all PVPers is that the Vanilla WPVP release was never like that due to multiple factors.
- Size of servers
- The fact that we had 15 years to learn min/max
Yes PVE transfers is a solution but there’s also others that you can do on a PVP server while the situation calmdown.
All people that play for the honor grind won’t be camping boats, zepp or flightpoints. They’ll be in group of 5 roaming and trying to get honor worth targets in zone like Black Rock Mountains, WPL, EPL or Winterspring.
I do like pvping a lot but the big raid meta is kinda stupid and pointless since it’s not efficient if you want to farm honor. So I have my solutions to get out of their ways.
- I farm gold in zones that I can get good 1v1.(Silithus caves for rogues)
- I do more instances (Pickpocket BRD and trying to get some BiS/reagents)
- Play with a group of 5 guildies.
- Level a profession.
You have to take into account that everything you’ll do will take more time for the next weeks.
Poor little thing, show us on the doll where that mean horde touched you.
There are some definite opportunities when it comes to faction balance but that is something that is player created. Players decided where they would play and which faction they wanted to play. This game is 15 years old so everyone knows all the best races/classes and unfortunately from a PvP perspective that is Horde. If players were worried about balance at all they would not have all decided to roll the better faction
With a huge world full of zones keyed for a variety of levels…
stop going through the typical choke points (STV, Hillsbrad, Arathi, etc) and find something different.
Develop a healthier sense of paranoia and look around more often when traveling.
Very rarely do i get surprised by a mob, i usually see them coming and go around.
Not sure why you dont understand the OP… its really not that hard to understand.
Its the server balance thats the issue.
As a Rogue max level on Heartseeker, i totally understand OP. Blizzard didn’t have the guts to give real and precise population statements and people blindly Xferred. We came from Stalagg which was wayyyy too much on Horde side, we thought it would be an unplayable server. Xfered to Heartseeker… This is stupid. Its not about the world pvp, its about the imbalance of the population. PVP is fine. Camping and griefing is fine. Its a part of the game. The problem is being 800 hordes at peak hours vs 2500+ Alliances. They come as 200 into Org, UC, Kargath and Lights hope chapel, and stay there for the day. Alot of people roll on PVP server and only do PVE… they won’t help, and they add to the problem of Faction imbalance. BG’s wont fix this, Queues will be horrible for Alliances that are 3x more than us, they will still farm people in openworld completely outnumbering everyone wanting to pvp.
The game is seriously unplayable in its current state. Phase 2 Release totally disregarded casual players. Only try-hards and neck beards got to lvl 60 in the short few months wow classic has been available and now everyone who has a job and plays casually is screwed over. It is totally impossible to level and my subscription is an absolute waste of money. I’ve had many friends stop playing and I’m likely going to do the same. This totally ruined the classic experience. All I wanted to do was do quests and it is totally impossible to do anything without perpetually being ganked.
Also switched from stalag to hearthseeker. I switched because so felt like it would be helpful for the overall community but had no idea what I was getting myself in for. The game is totally impossible to play now. Blizzard gives no way to reverse it and does not care AT ALL about the experience of individual players. Gm’s will likely say, “oooops, better reroll on a different server if you don’t like it tee hee”. This game seriously sucks
You are literally insane if you think any part of getting camped by raids is a L2P issue.
Like so insane that I will be praying for you…regardless of how you respond…good luck…
I enjoy PVP, but if this is what a PVP server on classic sounds like, I am glad I am never dealing with this. Sorry to those who are.
I play only as a healer and the thought of constantly getting camped by the opposing faction - especially because of a population imbalance doesn’t sound fun at all.
its not fun. People in classic are very rabid. People who have been no lifing private servers for years and now wanna stomp everyone who did not play this game since vanilla was current.
And you expected anything less from fanatic players?
