Anyone know if Pets merge into the spellbook in early wrath? Keen to start collecting for some achievements come Wrath. Any tips on where to start would be appreciated too

I don’t know if they merge into the spellbook but I do know that they get their own tab and that they no longer take up space in WotLK.

As to where to start well, there are the ones you buy, there’s an exotic pets vendor in Netherstorm that sells 4 pets for 10-40g for example, though vendor pets can wait.

If I were to give you a tip in how to really start then I’d say to get the harder ones done first. The reason why you should do the harder to get ones first is because the ones that are easy to get are all vendor pets so there isn’t a need to rush and get them right now. The ones you should be farming are the ones that are dropped off of mobs.

I’ll make a list of the pets that are, in my opinion, hard to obtain but feel free to ignore it as most of them can be bought on the AH if you’re willing to spend the gold.

Difficult to obtain pets list

Magical Crawdad

  • Obtained by fishing in Highland Pools near Skettis, getting that companion not only increases your companion count but it’s also an achievement in itself.

Crocolisk in the City

  • This fishing daily has a chance to give you one of 4 companion pets, all of which are a baby crocolisk

Disgusting Oozeling

  • This pet is a pain to farm and is probably extremely expensive to just buy on the AH (if it’s even posted), but in my opinon it’s worth it to spend a hour or so a week just trying to get it. I think casually trying to get it is the best way to farm this or just have a really good farming song cause you’re going to be there for a long time. Oh, you farm this from high level slimes like the ones in W/EPL and Felwood. This pet can be bought.

Emerald Whelpling

  • The first of the 3 Whelps, it’s obtained by killing the Dreaming Whelpings in the Swamp of Sorrows. Two kinds of whelps spawn in that area but only the Dreaming Whelpings will drop the pet. The area you farm is the south west corner of the Swamp of Sorrows, near the path to Karazhan. This pet can be bought.

Crimson Whelping

  • The Crimson Whelping is farmed pretty much near the middle of Wetlands, near the entrance to Grim Batol’s first gate. If I recall correctly all the whelps there have a chance to drop the pet. This pet can be bought.

Dark Whelping

  • The main way I think you’d farm this are the Black Dragons in Badlands at the Lethlor Ravine. This pet can be bought.

Hycanth Macaw

  • Dropped off of any Bloodsail enemy in STV but has an extremely low drop chance.
    This pet can be bought.

Black Tabby Cat

  • Dropped from the Dalaran Spellscribe or other enemies at a lower drop chance, this is a Horde only pet as Alliance can’t attack them. This pet can be bought.

Firefly

  • This drops from the Bogflare Needlers (the yellow fireflys) you see around Zangarmarsh, they have an extremely low drop chance. This pet can be bought.

Jubjub

  • This pet is easy to get but probably not that well known, you obtain this pet by first getting Dark Iron Ale from BRD. go to a person located in the Darkmoon Fair called Morja, place one of the ale down at her feet and wait for a while. Eventually her pet frog returns when that happens give her another mug.
    Once you’ve done this you’ll obtain an egg with a 7 day timer, when this timer expires the egg will hatch and you’ll have your very own Jubjub.

This is pretty much it as the other ones are obtained from either a dungeon/raid (Phoenix Hatchling and Mojo) or are from world events like Winter Veil. Don’t forget that there are also reputation pets, I can only think of two, those being the Sporeggar and the Sha’tari Skyguard.

There are pet quests in Classic content that I’ve not mentioned like the 2 quests that lead you into LBRS for the Wolf Pup and Spider Hatchling, the Mechanical Chicken from the 3 escort quests in Feralas, Tanaris and The Hinterlands.

There’s also the escort quest in the Bonewastes called Skywing for a bird.

Profession pets made by Engineers, 3 are BoE but the other 2 are BoP

TL:DR; Start getting the hard to obtain ones now.

That’s the Magical Crawdad, but I guess you’re right I didn’t mention that you get it from fishing up Mr. Pinchy and it’s really Mr. Pinchy that gives you the pet.

I don’t care for this video as I’m not American. The pledge is strange to me really, you already have a national anthem why do you need that and to pledge to the flag, doesn’t the anthem already do this just seems unnecessary.

Furthermore, Mr. Pinchy has a plethora of other things he can do when you use him, and also has a 48 hour cooldown and only three charges. If you really want the pet you will likely go through a few Mr. Pinchy before you get it.
