(Pet battles) Please, for all that is good. Put a cooldown on the move "Horn Attack."

I’ve ran into a few players now that have the Stunted Direhorn pet from getting 250 PvP wins. I came here to ask, please! Put a cooldown on this pet attack. It hits way too hard and the chance to stun is a whopping 50%! This is so absurdly powerful and it makes winning against this specific move more frustrating than it needs to be.

I know the proper counter would be running a faster pet, but the issue is, they also have the move “Primal Cry” which slows all of your pets by 25%!

Now, if it didn’t hit so dang hard, I wouldn’t have an issue with it, but even if you do use a faster pet, this thing will still out dps your pets. I don’t know how this made it through testing all those years ago when this was current, but my gosh it feels like an uphill battle. And before anyone says anything, I have won against this specific pet a few times, but it’s just so unfun to play against.

Edit: To add one final note, getting hit with this attack does NOT trigger cc immunity. This is just like pre-nerf Frog Kiss during the beginning of OG MoP. Meaning you can get perma stunned if the stars line up.

Any OP move like this 100% needs to be nerfed. It’s incredibly boring versing everyone using it.

Must be pretty rare I haven’t manage to face someone with it.

Great addition to this thread

A bit ironic dont you think? :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway sometime keeping a thread alive is participation enough.

Based on wowhead comments it is definitely a decent pet but it’s not even the strongest version of it as the stunted direhorn is p/p and we will be able to get better breeds of direhorns on isle of giants.

Not sure if wowhead is wrong but it shows 50% accuracy for horn strike while ingame its much higher so maybe that’s the problem.

I haven’t done any PVP yet (hardly any 25s, because I’m still leveling myself), but it’s good to see the direhorn rage arriving right on time.

I agree this pet can be very very frustrating. It would be nice if they’d nerf it, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. (They did eventually nerf it the first time, but this might actually be the nerfed version we’re getting? I honestly don’t remember well enough to know.)

Best level up your Arcane Winds teams, forced swappers, AOE teams, and pets with back-row damage. And of course get your own. The fad will pass.

^ Just picked up a Fiendish Imp that I’m going to start working on, but man. It kind of stinks that you have to build an entire team just to counter one pet. I just hope that maybe a blue sees this and passes it on to the team. It’s not even a joke to say I HATE this pet already.

I’m sitting at 70 ish wins now, and I’ve ran into 3 or 4 of em. It is pretty rare compared to most teams, but every day there’s going to be more people getting them.

horn attack was 100% chance to stun, we’ve the nerfed version now (50%)
also i have almost 600 wins now and i think i’ve seen 1 person running the pet. sandstorm spammers are a way bigger issue imo

I don’t know then. Because I’ve been playing for about 2 hours today, and 80% of my matches have been Direhorn spammers.

I changed my team up a bit and it seems to be working somewhat, but this pet is still overpowered.

The funny thing is that the first couple weeks was indeed Sandstorm teams, but I hardly see them anymore now.

If it makes you feel any better, the Fiendish Imp is going to serve you very well on many teams for the rest of his impy little life. I wish I could afford one.

And worry not, I just unlocked the PVP weekly, and if I decide to do any battles this week it’s going to be free wins for everyone (but me). I have I think four 25’s and none of them are great PVP pets. I’ve just been leveling who I need to get my dailies done.

I’m not too sure but I think its better to hand the weekly in next Monday night after MoP comes so you get the full rewards. Now you only get the supply bag or whatever. Once MoP comes you’ll get the the other 2 rewards.

This is a great tip thanks.

Are you trying to reference my comment being “as bad” as yours? Not sure what you’re getting at.

This statement coming from a “community council” player is gold.

Nah definitely worse you’re right.

Well I do write in golden text.

Glad that we’re helping both to keep this thread alive. But more seriously if you want to have a chat it’s probably not the right thread.

As for me I’m still looking to see this pet action.

Yikes. Hopefully you graduate middle school soon.

Hopefully you understand the irony of your interactions. As for me I don’t see anything constructive about them so I’ll wish you good day.

I haven’t seen it as much today. There was at least 3 different teams running them this morning (unless it was all the same person) but it does seem like most players don’t have it yet.

The cc hasn’t been worth a squat since it was created. We all knew what it was going to be and nobody listened.

What eventuated with community council? I heard about it years ago and then nothing since.

Because most of it has been abandoned outside of having access to post in the community council section and a discord to discuss with other members. There were some youtube recordings early on and members could ask question to devs as far as I know but it’s been a couple years since.

I wouldn’t say nothing has happened from it (There has been simply too many coincidences to say that it gets ignored as for classic I did a thread about the Dragonsoul gems and a list for mop which had many changes being applied for mop) but there is not more communication from Blizzard that happens from it which initially was the goal. While I personally still value being able to post feedback and topics in a section of the forum that won’t get buried as much it definitely hasn’t held to its early ambitions.
