Try having permanent damage to your account interface variables.
Uninstalling doesn’t fix the issue.
It’s now an issue with blizzard servers.
You’re right, uninstalling wouldn’t fix the issue. Add-ons can leave behind broken/corrupt settings when uninstalled only.
You will need to keep it uninstalled then perform a proper UI reset. This is entirely different from a /reload.
Its not though. I haven’t had any issues (I do not use that addon) and I do several Pet Battles every day. If it was an issue with general pet battles, there would be FAR more posts and topics. The problem seems to have been narrowed down to the PetTracker addon for everyone affected so far.
I fully uninstalled the game (then re-installed) and it still shows the imposter pet switcher when switching pets without having any addons installed at all.
My prolonged use of pettracker in the past has done something on the server side and now I can’t get it back to normal again.
Barring addon manager shenanigans, cvars are the only thing that immediately comes to mind as persisting through a fresh install and why its recommended to reset them in the case of a ui reset not fixing the issue.
I have just made a screenshot from a different character on a different realm that shows what I am talking about but I can't post it here because I don't have the ability to do so
Please humor us and do the UI reset as outlined in the article I linked. All the steps, including the advanced troubleshooting at the bottom.
Make sure your addon manager is uninstalled.

So I just did everything that was asked of me to do.
Uninstall Curse Client
Rename the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld.
Tested a pet battle, same thing as before.
Did a /console cvar_default during battle.
Did a /console cvar_default after battle.
No change.

I obviously did not know that.
I thought the other view was more informative and cleaner and had borders that said this is the default warcraft look.
I have had this exact problem ever since I started The War Within.
I had this problem and it went away entirely after I went to Curse > PetTracker>Versions>Installed 11.1.1 (3/1/2025)
I do not have the current, updated version 11.1.2 (3/12/2025)
This seems a much easier solution than most of those described above. Tells me the problem is something in the PetTracker update from 3/12
I’ve seen this reported by others, too. Those who can trace the issue to PetTracker have gotten around it by either sticking to version 11.1.1, disabling the pet switcher option in the configuration, or disabling the pet battle module.
There are quite a few who claim they are having the problem even without addons, but I’m skeptical.
