I would like to take my 70 holy pally through Dire Maul for the achievement, but the anti-boosting measures kinda put a damper on the desire to keep going. I get it when pulling the entire instance, but 10 level 57-59 elite mobs should be cake for a max level character with ~T5 equivalent gear.
Gather mobs > consecrate > heal > bubble when needed > finish off
It has generally always worked this way with no problems. Now you get repeatedly stunned after a minute of combat, bubble or no - removing a core feature of how paladin plays. There has to be a better solution. Maybe rather than tying it to a timer, the mobs get stronger when you gather too many of them together?

Maybe it’s a gear thing, but I keep seeing people talk about this and I literally haven’t noticed a thing yet. I’ve gone back for all old dungeon achievs, not a single time has it crossed my mind.
Maybe 60 seconds to kill a 60 elite is a bit too long?

I can understand the line of reasoning, my issue is that we had been doing it this way before and now cannot, and it’s not due to a balancing change. The change responsible seems like it could be reworked to perform its intended function, while allowing players to play how they wish.

Rubbish bandaid fix that does nothing to stop boosting and hurts legitimate players can’t even play the game and do fun things anymore

It actually did stop almost all boosting. The current viable boosts are extremely expensive and slower than questing.

Didn’t stop nothing literally spam full of boosts only thing that changed is its not mages now its warriors and prot pallies mainly
Also didn’t stop any boosts cause u can literally buy a boost now as well
It’s just ruining fun things to do in the game when you start changing how to game was just to fix a problem u will never get rid of (as seen in retail) then you ruin everything

At least on my server boosters went from hundreds everywhere to one or two manually soloing a few dungeons for people.
The changes 100% fixed almost all boosting, especially in lower levels where it was extremely damaging to the world since the boosts were so accessible.

Yeah to be clear this isn’t about the efficiency of the measures, that’s pretty clearly a win in the Blizzard column.
This is solely about taking a look at the changes made to see if they can be improved on to the betterment of player experience.
typical blizzard fix. Hit it with a hammer until it breaks. Then walk away satisfied that they are done.
If you are in the dungeon alone and not getting xp (i.e. what the OP did) then the anti-boosting measures shouldn’t come into place because no boosting is going on, but instead of a refined measure to stop boosting, they killed off a little more of the fun of the game and shortened its lifespan

Agree with this, but assumed it wasn’t a possibility due to coding restrictions - of which I am completely ignorant

I need to go play retail because I like that boosts were nerfed?

this should be the fix. congrats you are smarter than a team of blizz devs.

You are insufficiently outraged that Prot-Paladin AOE-grinding has received a deserved efficiency nerf.

Again that’s not what this thread is about - I mentioned I’m playing holy, and the fix suggested would still impact the notorious prot aoe.
Great, thanks – I read the OP. I was not responding to the OP.
This thread is about taking a closer look at the fixes that were implemented, as stated above they clearly worked for their intended purpose. I just wanted to address the collateral damage.

yeah and when you only pull like 2 or even 3 groups that are NEAR each other its BS.
