Perfect time for Account Bound Essences

I ran 2 Mythic ready toons this tier, started one late. In the last 3 weeks, I brought up a 3rd and it would be able to do the first 4 now.

If you’re just starting a toon in a CE guild now, it sounds like you just were not prepared. You’ve known about essences for months now.

Exalted Rustbolt is easier the 2nd, and even easier the 3rd time around. You can buy BoA tokens, and the more toons at Exalted, the more tokens you can buy.

I have double Rank 3 Nullification Dynamo, so I don’t really have any pity for you. Only Rank 2 is required honestly, Rank 3 only gives you DPS.

It’s not so much that it was easy, It’s the fact that it was the most boring ‘content’ added.

I would say most people ticked about the system are PVPers who hate having to be gated on things like this. That extra DPS is very nice in PVP with the current amount of casters running around.

Still it’s w/e I have my rank 3 and it’s fun. I just didn’t want to do an alt because I actually have a job :stuck_out_tongue:

Mechagon is fine. It’s in fact pretty fun and free form, very Timeless Isle like.

No, most people ticked about this are people who think you can have multiple mains with no effort.

So do I. I don’t see how having a job prevents you from getting essences on alts.

It used to be like that in expansions past though?

I don’t know what expansion you could gear up a main in under a week in. Hasn’t been true since Mists, where it would have taken you multiple weeks to get your Legendary Cloak. Same for WoD IRT the Legendary Ring. Same for Legion IRT the multiple systems like the artifact and Legendaries.

This is such an idiotic notion. First of all alts will naturally not get to the same level as a main because you spend more time on a main and will therefore not only get better gear, but also gear that’s more suited to your spec.

It’s worked like this in the past and there hasn’t been anything wrong with it. You know what didn’t happen before azerite/essences? People quitting the game in droves due to terrible systems that are also time-gated.

Even if some people were lucky enough to RNG their alt into becoming as geared as their main, there isn’t anything wrong with that because they’ll want to play that character more. More people playing is better for the game and its community.

I keep saying it and these threads keep proving it true, people who are against BoA essences have more time than sense.

It’s trashcan gnome lore and there’s trash everywhere and it sucks imo

On the PVP side this isn’t really true. Not having rank 3s of essences sucks in PVP, and a lot of the really fun pre 1800 games with goofy comps aren’t nearly as common compared to the first season especially. I love essences in PVP it’s just terrible gating PVP players with PVE crap and having “blood of the enemy” actually earned through PVP. Crit kind of sucks for most specs in PVP.

I guess that depends on the job :stuck_out_tongue:

Like Legendary Cloaks, Legendary Rings and ilvl upgrades for said Legendary Rings ? Like Legiondaries ? Like Netherlight Crucibles, Artifact Weapons ?

The game has been like this for a decade now.

Or you know, we realise this is an MMO RPG, not a “Pick your Hero for the game” type shooter/MOBA. You get out of an MMO what effort you put into it. You pick a class, you work on a toon, and the more you work on it, the better it becomes. You’re supposed to actually feel attachment to your main.

9-5, mon-fri Career jobs tend to leave you with an easy to manage schedule. Perks of being old I guess.

well aren’t you special

You’re the one who brought out the “I have a job” ad hominem, sorry it backfired so bad on you.

it really didn’t, it definitely says a lot though :stuck_out_tongue:

brb fixing the economy you guys trashed

All of which had huge catch up mechanics.

lol you people need to give it up. Not wanting to repeat crappy content isn’t a sin. The game was an MMO RPG without this garbage. Just cause you have no value for your time and want to repeat unchallenging boring content to gain a false sense of accomplishment, doesn’t mean that most people do.

The sense of attachment should come from the class fantasy and your preferred playstyle, not the time that you’re forced to sink into bad time-gated content.

Even though blizzard will never implement boa essences I still support the idea.

Until then you may gaze upon my rank one essences and wonder “why is that cow so awesome even though he has crummy rank 1 essences”.

None of which got you the stuff in a single week. And those catch ups were in place in the very last patch. We’re not in the very last patch YET.

Netherlight also didn’t have any catch up.

No, you just need to go play a genre that caters to your “I want to play a different class every day”. MOBAs/ARPGs/Team shooters.

An MMORPG is a long term experience, not a quick fix.

No, the sense of attachment comes from the long term commitment.

I don’t work in a field that deals with economics. I work in tech. Dunno who you mean by “you guys”.

You don’t need essences to any of that, alts aren’t supposed to be at the same ilvl/power as mains the instant they turn 120. You have to go play those alts and earn that power and those rewards.

2 things :

  • You can be “old” enough to have a nice 9-5 career, without being so “old” that you’re not still a Millenial.

  • The economy is the best it’s been in ever. Dunno what you think is even “trashed”.
