That’s the only one I will willingly AFK out off… I am not wasting 30 minutes getting hit at by vehicles.
Or they could just let horde teams fight other horde teams, on blue and red sides, you know, exactly how RBGs work.
I’m all for getting a little conquest at the end of a losing BG but I’d predict a whole lot more botting and AFKing. There should be some performance threshold…like a tiny bit for losing but more for being up there in damage/healing.
Also in favor of horde fighting horde in BGs. It means alliance might get alliance teams to fight against too, which means more wins for alliance lol.
Idk what youre even talking about. If you look at my win loss for bgs which I only bg to level. The only time I lose is when the alliance genuinely try to lose. Which isn’t often at all.
When I get stuffed into a game in progress for the 8th time in a row I just turn the game off for a few hours since this a message that my faction is getting worked over.
What dimension do you play the game in? Alliance consistently stinks unless you can find a premade 5 man to queue up in.
I tried mercenary once for the giggles but loaded into IoC looking a MESS. Never again.
I just gear before I pvp like everyone should. I’ve lost like 3 maybe 4 bgs in total
PVP rewards in unranked games should be standardized against three factors-
1: Time spent in game. Meaning that if I spend a half hour in one AV, and then play two more AV games that each take 15 minutes, those two AV games have the same value as the one I spent 30 minutes in. No more rewarding the fastest game possible.
2: Time spent being effective. Basically, a hidden riding score to your time in BG’s is tracking what you actually do. Engaging in combat around objectives, protecting objectives, doing lots of healing, taking lots of damage, it all feeds into a score. If your score is within a percentage of the average (say 50%) of the match, you get the standard reward. Falling below that for going AFK or, say, sitting in the corner to mouth off costs you.
3: Your team’s score. Basically there’s no reason to not try as hard as possible since the difference between losing Arathi basin by 1 point or winning AB by 1 point isn’t actually a huge difference.
Basically the aim is to ensure that a losing streak doesn’t feel like you’re getting burned, winning is important but not to the exclusion of anything else, and to punish people who give up.
The way I see it, Blizzard encourages AFK behavior. No one wants to waste their time on a losing game. No incentive like a little conquest points, then AFK is alright with me. I’m not wasting my time with nothing in return. I’d rather AFK and wait it out, then I’ll spend my time in game doing something else till it falls off.
Right, I used to stick it out until the end but now that honor is basically useless, if we lose the opener it’s better just to leave and wait the 15 minutes for a new match than spend 30-40 minutes waiting for it to end.
LOL, we still afk in this janky mess of a game!
Nice necro. lolol
From the creators of “if my team wins it was because i carried!” come and watch “if my team is losing i wont do s***”
lol.
The problem is Blizzard won’t commit.
If they don’t want to reward failure, they need to implement match making so that games can at least pretend to be fair with each side having reasonable odds of winning.
And if they don’t want to do that, Blizzard needs to standardize rewards for PVP along contribution lines rather than whether or not you win.
I mean, what possible they can do? Sure many things that lead us to a loss can be discussed and some like creep power deserves attetion. But in the end, you are losing. Happens.
