Other than casually trying for it over the course of 10 years, I got it on my 3rd run after I pledged to send myself and all my alts in there. Very fortunate!
I think it was attempt 23 back in the day for me.
I got the drake from that raid that looks pretty much he same so I never farmed that one.
Drake of the south wind, surprisingly I got that one in my 3 rd attempt
I was pretty lucky with it and got it after a hundred runs or so - unlike the Stonecore Drake that was probably over 1k runs over the years on different toons.
I had to google that lol Its been way too long. I blocked out cata instances and their here-is-why-I-stopped-tanking shenanigans.
Iirc it didn’t take too long to get this drake. started farming it while it was still a little tough to solo (for me) but only had to do it maybe like 20 times?
I had to farm it a bit, maybe 40 attempts or so, not too terrible on that one.
Antoran Charhound for whatever reason I just hit FOUR HUNDRED attempts for tonight. Got Shackled after around 20 in BFA. Sha in 2k. Oondasta somewhere around 300.
Long story short, mounts suck, but it is a terribly addictive gamble 
It was over 100 tries for me.

Have all the wind mounts. I think the one you’re referencing dropped at about 50 tries.
That’s where your problem lies at. You need to farm it w/ 50 chars a week.
petition blizz so that we can cage and sell mounts like pets and i’ll sell this mount to you - i have lots of others i dont use that would end up on the AH.

I did that dungeon so many times, I lost count. I was debating whether or not I would get 5mil gold from just that dungeon to pay for the Brutosaur before I ever got that drake hah.
I ended up paying a fortune for it off the BMAH a week or two ago.
I got it while leveling up in random dungeons in Cataclysm, so I guess I’m fortunate.
