People Selling in Mythic Dungeon Finder

Today I go out to the Dungeon Finder tool (the only tool we have in game to find a group for Mythic+) and it’s littered with people “WTS Mythic+ BOOST” or “WTS Uldir” or “WTS xxxxxx”. I always report these groups but nothing is done about it. What can we do to get Dungeon Finder back to being a Dungeon Finder and not littered with Advertisements?

It’s getting worse and worse every day!

What could of been done died with the wow token. Gold has a real money value now for better or for worse.

Honestly asking, what did the game token ruin? A lot of people talk about that. I don’t really get how it changed anything.

Weren’t we supposed to get an extra option in LFG for those selling advertisements so they wouldn’t clog up the regular groups?

Whatever happened to that?

It along with a few other changes cemented the idea of selling runs as the norm rather then having it mostly restricted to a small handful of mythic guilds.

I disagree. They should be able to stop someone from starting a group with “WTS” or something like it.

Sure its lame but if they are selling for gold nothing you can do.

You can still report them even for gold selling. They aren’t suppose to offer services in the dungeon finder period.

falls under advertisement regardless of the currency used.

It’s not so much that nothing is done, as it’s more that there’s an unlimited supply of sellers out there. Much like real crime, its existence doesn’t mean that law enforcement isn’t doing anything.

EDIT: Oh, you mean a created place for them? I’m not sure that was ever Bliz’s plan. I think it was just community suggestion. Even still, the sellers would advertise in both places.

The option to report is there, but it doesnt hide them.

I feel the Bliz dropped the ball there. What good is it to have the reported adverts persist and clog up the UI? The sellers know that their adds will still be visible to all, even if reported. Thus, since there’s an endless supply of sellers, nothing about the new report feature is doing anything to discourage them.

It needs to locally hide the ones that are reported, like how chat is locally hidden after reporting.

Devils advocate but how do you know nothing is done? Remember how many gold spammers we used to block in any given day? There were so many that blocking one didn’t seem to make an appreciable difference. Same thing applies here I’d bet.

That would be futile due to the variations that could be dreamt up, or simple evolving to new text strings.

Well I dont report because it doesn’t bother me.

However, if reporting had consequences, you wouldn’t see it. I don’t think Blizzard’s intention of the LFD tool was 30 adverts of “You don’t have to try and we’ll run you through everything in the game if you have enough money”. If it wasn’t their intention, then they need to grab a hold of it, or come up with a better system.

I also wish these would go away.

But if it wasn’t full of wts groups I am a little worried about how full it would be at all.

I don’t see the issue with folks selling runs for gold.

Hopefully they scraped that idea.

People throwing gold at carry groups to cheapen the accomplishments of others is a poor system to support. If you can’t do the content, you shouldn’t be rewarded.

Simple as that in my opinion.

Since gold cannot be traded cross server, all it does is add to the spam we have to sift through when looking for mythic+ groups. They can spam their own servers /2 where it’s allowed if they need gold so badly.

I don’t either I have had a run or 2 done however I do agree with many they shouldn’t be turning LFG into an spam of advertising.

I agree with @Raicolette. Do I think it’s lame to buy a run and get stuff you didn’t technically earn? Yes. Do I think you should be able to do that if you have the money? Yes. All they are doing is providing a service. If you don’t want to participate, then don’t.

Let’s not pretend that there is any kind of meaningful reward to doing content in an mmo. That aside, people are paying money to play this game for fun, what’s the difference in paying more money to get some pixels if that’s how they have fun?

Hate to break it to you, but they’re not the ones “cheapening” your in-game accomplishments. Reality is.

Very much agreed. I do not see the harm. I scroll past them, or i type in the search bar, thats what its there for.
