People seem to love to insult the lead narrative designer

Ah yes, we need a ton of context for “Malfurion needs to die so Ysera can come back”. Not that dificult to understand.

And if Steve Danuser story was that bad then why do some people enjoy his recent book like the folks and fairy book.

I would say great? I don’t actually want the story to suck. I just don’t exactly have faith based on the crap SL was.

I can’t really speak on his novel or novels, but the one WoW novel I did purchase was one of my biggest regrets of my life. Before the Storm. It wasn’t by him, but it was awful. Apparently, some of the older ones are pretty good though, but that one experience sort of ruined that prospect forever for me.

What if he isn’t dying and just need someone to replace the position that was formerly for ysera.

Ysera’s dead. He’s trading places with her. That means he is now dead. It’s not that deep.

Ok Steve. Whatever you say.

Turns out people can have opinions on things without being involved in the creation of said things. That does not at all make those opinions invalid.

I don’t attribute WoW’s HORRID storytelling to a single person like Danuser. There’s clearly more to it than that, or it wouldn’t be such a consistent low point for the game. But people can think what they think.

Movie Critics don’t have to be screenwriters and directors to leave their reviews. Same thing.

She was revived now she is half dead and half alive but she is now connected to Ardenweald and if she leave her ties with it will be severed with no way back.

She’s still dead.

Let’s not exaggerate. It may not be perfect but it’s no Warlords of Draenor.

Alternate timelines usually don’t, thankfully.

Neither did Shadowlands but I guess it’s easier to whine than to read.

lol

I’ve seen some hot takes in this thread, but this one takes the cake.

Well, if you think Warlords didn’t had any effect legion expansion gul’dan was from warlords.

And still a better villain than the jailer. With the simplest most bad guy motivation of being evil for the sake of it.

But it didn’t harm the integrity of the game’s lore in any significant way. Shadowlands took a dump on it repeatedly.

Shadowlands only did several things…

Explore who was the first who designed the frostmourn and the helm of domination?

Explore who was the first who created the nathrezim?

And explored who set all of these events in motion?

Could the story have done better (it could have) but Steve and his team didn’t had the time when they took over the story and so he had to find a way to solve everything and conclude the first chapter in World of Warcraft story.
