He’s right. I do love to insult the story writers. It’s that bad
I don’t agree with this. They killed off too many Horde leaders. And they need to walk back the Council thing. Sylvanas should have never have been Warchief.
That’s why it is called a hard reboot and not a wimpy apologetic course correction with actual consequences in form of the Bronze Dragons.
If this is your reasoning for everything you do, then you’re not fit to have a proper discussion about the lore on a more sophisticated level. We do not “apologize”, we invest and foster their writing culture. We are the customers, we expect somewhat agreeable results and not fanfiction quality and how Zovaal was “behind all of this in the conclusion tale of the saga told since WC3”.
I “hard reboot” your hard reboot into the trash can. Lol.
I played Shadowlands for two years. It happened.
Zovaal was behind everything since Warcraft 3. That happened. I may not like it, but it happened. Now, where do we go from here to make this work in a way that is satisfying? That’s the question.
This is true: I’m not 100% certain how they’re going to do that. For all intents and purposes the dragonflights all lost their powers upon the Dragon Soul firing it’s laser.
…I wonder if the Dragon Soul will be involved somehow. I don’t think it went anywhere after Thrall used it.
We do the same as we already did it with Med’an. Check page 404 on the Chronicles book. We simply ignore what happened.
AD-EU does this, for sure.
If you want to LARP and head-canon your own version of the game, go for it my dude. In the mainline lore, Shadowlands still happened.
Med’an is different as that was never in the game.
I’ll admit, as a fantasy staple, dragon just do not grab my fancy. All my brain sees is “giant lizard with wings”… it just doesn’t feel very fantasy-esque, but then unicorns are basically horses with horns…
Even the centaurs feel more interesting than the dragon centerpieces cause it’s like: “Whoa half horse dude!”
I’m looking forward to DF… but it’s the talents and mechanical stuff I’m looking forward to, not necessarily the plot and narrative so far.
‘The Dragon Soul was returned to its exact time in history.[6]’
Re: https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Demon_Soul#Hour_of_Twilight
Honestly the story has been downhill ever sense the Nathanos self insert crap in BfA.
Oh.
Well, never mind me, then! I forgot that particular detail from the ending…
In my retail chars cannon I never actually went to SL. At the end of BfA I stayed in Boralus and helped out Ruff Waters for the whole expansion.
Nah, I’m pretty sure I could do a better job.
Not a good job, mind you, just considerably better than what we have now.
We knew there was a darklord leading the Nathrezim since wc3, its funny how blizz writing always left one liner red herrings, just the playerbase seemingly was too naive to think more than the simplest explanation.
Overanalyzing shadowlands wording has been a joy, I look forward to the next 10 years of warcraft, the last 20 have been a blast.
Yeah, I actually like Denatharius as the master of the Dreadlords. They’ve always been an odd-ball in the Legion and not trusted by the rest of the Legion races and so knowing they aren’t from where demons come from but are instead other planar death beings makes them work better.
If DF is good, why don’t people let it prove itself when it goes live instead of wagging fingers at us and saying, “Shame on you for being skeptical!”
I don’t have DF Beta so the only evidence I have of Danuser and his team as the narrative lead is SL, which I hated. So yeah, I am skeptical. If DF changes my mind, it will be earned.
Dragonflight will be the greatest story ever told. Book it
If dragonflight occurred instead of shadowlands, we would have a power infused tyrande on the loose, a depressed jaina (lol jk she still is mopey), a child manduin, a dead ysera, a lonely bolvar, a hermit thrall, a warlord sylvanas, am I missing anyone else?
I think blizz did aight in how they progressed known characters, my hope with dragonflight is they add new ones I actually care about. Not some blue skinned turd who’s turning gold.
I’m not paid to write stories.
How has that simple tidbit of information eluded you?
