I like to play Warsong - I think it’s a fun battleground. I solo queued many games over Warsong weekend.
24 Warsongs played this weekend:
- 13 premades of these 13 games I won 3 and did not get to play the game in the other 10.
- 11 non-premades that were all competitive fun games (I won 10 - disc priests are strong).
The current state of the battleground is unfortunate. I simply want to have competitive games where I can - actually - play the game. Approximately, 42% of the games were just awful with my team fighting to obtain, and often failing, a single honorable kill.
I do not want to decimate pug groups so I chose not to premade, I will not participate in ruining other people’s experience of the game. I’m extremely interested in premades if I was sure I could play against other premades.
The thread about people living for 10v10 pvp doesn’t make a lot of sense to me
- The current state of the battleground does not encourage 10v10 but 10vs pug (tbf I have no data on premade vs pug ratio, I’m basing this on other posts here)
- A seperate premade queue would encourage 10v10 - since then you’re guaranteed to play against 10.
- It is disingenuous. I don’t actually think many of the people premading right now enjoy playing wsg but are only doing it to farm reputation, honor, or honorable kills.
I hope the developers do something soon because it is clearly a problematic feature of SoD, that is discouraging many players from queuing up.

They wont do it, because trash players need a competitive advantage, so devs think premade vs pugs is fine, and players will defend it.

I’ve said this before, I’ll say it a million times more. The main reason why people premade is to stomp for wins, because wins provide better rep and honor per hour, and they need to grind.
If you want to remove premading for that reason, then remove the rep grind from wsg, and make something else better honor. That way the only people playing wsg are the people who ENJOY it.

Later on in that twitter thread, he said they’re discussing things and looking at options. The issue that was brought up is that while it may alleviate problems now, it could cause greater problems when we have 2 separate queues for each BG.
So, if it makes you feel any better, OP, they’re at least talking about it internally.

It’s also worth noting that he said SOME people live for 10v10 wsg premades, not that ALL people live for them.
I won’t deny, a 2 hour nailbiter of a wsg is a thrilling experience, and he IS right that, if the queue were split, one of them might never pop, but I don’t have blizzard’s backend statistics, so I can’t really make any guesses on that side of things.

It’s genuinely heartening to hear from others who have a conscience and a backbone. I appreciate you.

But he purposly plays disc priest in wsg… is he not ruining peoples time by 1v4ing the pug teams?
Exactly. If those players were in it for the SPORT, they would organize actual competitive 10v10 using /WARGAME
– Also note, /wargame even allows for same-faction battlegrounds. In essence, they could even host Guild vs Guild tournaments.

wtf?? thats so cool!
Bro you may have just saved me some pain. Can we do 10v10 with 20 guildies? This is awesome

Pretty certain it should work. Just requires the leaders of the two groups to be regular Battle.Net friends
So you had close to a 50% win-rate despite being solo-Q’d and are whining?
I swear you guys on the forums have the worst luck. Majority of my games are pugs vs pugs. Queing all day I might get like 5-7 premades.
The dev is clueless. Premades are about farming non-premades and stomping them for the fastest honor and rep possible.

I call BS on this one here. I’m 8 games away from finishing the grind and have only ever solo queued. At least 50% of non premades I have faced roll us like a premade because they have healers and we don’t. The next majority of games are those in which neither side has healers and nobody can survive mid field. These tend to turn in to 30 minute slogfests that typically end when people start AFKing an one side wins the RNG roll of getting a healer replacement. And then there are finally the handful of games in which our team has the healing advantage and we get to table the other team.
I can count on one hand the number of “competitive” pug v pug games I have played in. All that said, I’m at the point that I hope they do split the queue, but only so I can come to the forums 10 minutes after the patch to respond to the new posts crying about premades solo queueing into games and say I told you so.
Being held hostage in a phase vs premades that literally have nothing to do. Leveling to 40 will break this up for a short time but once phase 2 hits stagnant it will start all over again where premades will absolutely 15 man stomp AB. Need to make it solo Q only before it hits the 2 month long nothing to do but stomp pugs phase.

I gave in and queued with a premade yesterday on my priest. The irony is that only 1 out of the 15 bg’s we did were premades. Meanwhile, if I solo queue, it’s 1 PUG out of 15 bg’s.

The answer isn’t making a seperate queue for premades.
The answer is so simple when you think about it.
You make a seperate queue for solo players!

They were not all 3-2 games, but most of these games had each team cap at lease once (some were 3-0) but each team got kills and were able to do stuff. Apologies I didn’t keep more stats.
I will say heals are very impactful at the moment so being a healer and doing a bit before the game like assisting all and marking heals and fc maybe helped. I would have to do a games where I don’t do that to get a sample to compare.
