Do you guys not have phones?
I don’t think my existence is ruining people’s lives but that may be true. I’m not sure disc is so strong that solo heals is that egregious (but maybe I’m just bad!).
Not gonna lie, Retail BGs are so much more fun than SoD or Classic since they limited premade groups to 5 max. Yea some games you get wrecked because the enemy team has 2 healers and you don’t, but at least it’s a roll of the dice. The current way it is you will 100% of the time run into premade with Hunters, Flag Carrier, + 3 Priest healers for the most part and it’s really lame.
I’ve seen some people argue “well if you remove group queing out of BGs then people are just gonna still complain when they don’t have a healer”…and honestly that’s absolutely fine, it would be better than the current system in place.
Oh and as a sidenote remove Rep requirements to exalted for epic gear, or just remove BG requirements to get exalted and let people earn exalted out in Open world PvP. That’s all.
wouldnt hurt for them to do a test 2 weeks of these separate ques.
i’m sure some corporate butthole is thinking that if its scrapped then its wasted money… but no its not… it will provide data. data to make future decisions.
like… if i could que in the open world. so that way i can fish. or grind or whatever. while i wait for my Pug que to pop. i’d love it
needing to sit in a city sucks.
I believe you believe this, but I’d be surprised if it were a very accurate statement.
It might be fair to say that you enjoy winning, and you have an adverse feeling towards losing in WSG.
Go ahead and queue for as long as it takes for you to lose 10 pug vs pug games in a row (might be more than 1 weekend for this to happen) and see if you still enjoy it.
Now of course I can understand the claims that people give up because it’s too hard, and they lose hope, etc. From what I can tell, the worst experiences in WSG are when your teammates don’t try.
People have given examples of professional teams against kindergarten students, but I’d be skeptical that level 1 toons in starter gear are entering level 25 BGs, and I’d also be curious in SoD who feels comfortable queueing for BGs without having at least spent a little time working on gearing their character.
Level cap is 25. WSG is the current end-game BG, and people who want to just AFK, play as though they were AFK, and those who want to coordinate gameplay, use consumables, and win, and everything in-between, including those who just want the fastest possible games at all costs are all playing together.
This obviously affects those who opt to be auto-assigned into groups with other players. The only option to be grouped with other like-minded individuals is to form your own team. As with probably any reward bearing competition, there is no option to choose the teams or types of teams you face.
Do you really? Is this a legitimate hope that you have?
They already said they weren’t. Not sure what people are expecting running into a brick wall. We’re well past their statement saying they don’t intend on making any adjustments to it.
I’ve done solo queue and premades. I’ve endured and enjoyed the elements of both. I’ve won solo queues, I’ve lost to premades in solo queue, I’ve won against pugs and premades in premades and have lost to premades.
Queue or don’t. It’s not changing and everyone else doesn’t care.
The biggest problem is that there is no simple solution, well, not one solo players are willing to accept at least.
Solution 1: Split queue. Solo WSG rewards 5 rep per flag cap and one mark per victory/0 per loss. Premade rewards remain the same. This would actually fix the problem.
Solution 2: Split the queue but don’t change the rewards. This would fix nothing as premades would abandon the premade queue and simply coordinate queue as they have in the past.
Solution 3: Split the queue and introduce a scrambling mechanic for solo queue to help keep premades from coordinating in. This would lead to a significant increase in queue times, especially in later phases when more BGs are introduced. There is also no guarantee that this would completely stop partial premades from getting through. Depending on how it is implemented it would still be possible for mass queueing premades to get 7+ into the same game. Might not have optimal comps but voice comms would be enough to farm most uncoordinated pugs.
Wait did the lead dev really say “People live for 10v10” ?
Is there a source for this?
It’s on twitter, or X, or whatever.
So let me get this straight and just for clarity on this…
We have a lead developer that engages in communication on TWITTER and not much on the forums. Is this to build his own brand? Why not use the forums the community uses and the company provides?
We have a lead developer that thinks raids vs pubs is good for the game and if you wanna enjoy battle ground and not get stomped you need to find a group? This is exactly the kinda of attitude that killed Over Watch and has driven away the player base…
When you are ignoring the VAST majority of the player base, providing feedback on a different platform, appealing to a tiny echo chamber of players all the while being stubborn and unable to make changes to important aspects of the game that your player base is asking for.
And it’s not like these requests are unreasonable. Party queue only for BGs. Not raid. How are they this lost…
/cancelled account.
Good luck Classic players… You are not in good hands
See this is the so wrong… People do care, which is why there are posting.
Look how easy it is to predict the future… Most casual players like to solo queue to enjoy their gaming fix for the night. Bang out a quest and do a BG. They have already lost players because of RAIDS vs PUGS.
When the numbers start to dip after the initial release of phase 2… The devs will say its because as expected, the interest has died down… They will say the same thing to themselves at 50… And again at 60… Meanwhile the silent majority that doesnt post on these forums will be long gone because they cant get a good solo battle ground experience.
Ive seen the stubbornness of blizzard before and the are WAY too slow to change things when they are in an echo chamber. Only to have the game slowly fade away and for them to blame Covid or lack of interest on their decline.
Where is the accountably? They are dropping the ball and the communication from Josh on this matter specifically is horrendously poor.
“People live for 10v10” Is this a joke? Is he that unaware of where the money comes from? People just want to play a battle ground without getting stomped. I hope when he looks back at why the numbers dipped so hard from phase 40-50 he can see just how poor this decision to stay the course was.
I think most people can agree that there are many solutions and the worst thing that they can do is nothing.
And still they do nothing.
Yikes
Allow me to reiterate, there’s not enough people that care to make a difference nor is there enough who find it as problematic as others. I consider myself in the middle of the casual group. I can solo queue. I can do premades.
the silent majority
I always hated this term. >_>;
You think you do but you don’t was correct. it 100% played out that way. It’s why era is the least played.
At least 50% of non premades I have faced roll us like a premade because they have healers and we don’t.
Sir, this man is a healer.
I admit I don’t get the “some people live for 10v10s” answer. If they live for it, wouldn’t they like a second queue specifically for 10v10s more?
It seems more like what he’s actually saying is, “if we limit 10-man premades to queuing against each other, they won’t get as many games, which would suck for them” which is perhaps valid but is very different from what Aggrend actually said on the topic. And I like aggrend a lot, I think he seems like a smart guy who knows generally what’s up.
I mean, I guess it comes down to the quantity of games vs the quality of games. If I need to wait longer for the types of games I want, that’s fine with me. It’s better to wait 15 minutes for a game where I’m guaranteed to at minimum start on a level playing field than to pop in 3-4 minutes but get repeated one-sided stomps.
