People DIDN'T Know What They Signed Up For

Classic has been phenomenal for marketing shadowlands. People who don’t want to deal with douches like the lvl 60 UD warlock with Felheart Shoulders(lol) above, and they don’t like how blizzard ruined wpvp by increasing the population ever so steadily with hotfixes. It’s like they made classic to show people with lives who still want to play an MMO that they can boost a 120 and play in ICC again without drama.

This statement makes zero sense. Look up the definition of “conflate” and also understand that if someone didn’t want PvP servers with honor, they didn’t want classic.

They should be able to transfer… for cash. Consequence for stupid choices is how things should work.

So I guess we can use that for everything now. “Son, clean your room.” “No!” “Yes!” “That’s an ideologue demand!”

Yes, to that point. I agree that you’re not going to convince me that people deserve second chances in a game where nothing really matters anyways.

My point: “If people can fix something in a game, they should.”

Your point: “Blizzard should fix peoples’ mistakes, especially for those people who don’t want to be here, meaning they’ll probably complain about a plethora of other things in the mean time, then quit after two more months regardless of what happens because they’re just naturally flippant people.”

Sound about right?

I enjoy killing any alliance player. That being said, I’d happily camp you as well if given the opportunity.

If they quit because of this, then they lack the fortitude and determination I desire in my friends. shrugs

I’m still working on getting to 60, and I’ve been playing from day one. It isn’t a lack of determination, it is a lack of time to play… but I keep plugging on and climbing that hill because to do otherwise would be less than acceptable.

I had a level 60 Nelf hunter on Dethecus back in the day. I was ganked repeatedly… and I hated it. I hated every moment of being out in the world, and I hated every horde rogue that ever rolled a toon. I have BEEN there. I have DONE that. I know exactly what it means to throw away hours and hours of play time and re-roll a character because I didn’t want to be on a PVP server.

I did it. I re-rolled. And amazingly enough, I re-rolled HORDE. And stayed horde. Don’t ever think I don’t “get it”. It is a LOT of work to start over from scratch. I did it, however, and they can, too.

UD warlock on an overpopulated, grossly imbalanced pvp realm telling people to suffer is the WoW equivalent of a Bootstrap Boomer telling some kid to work his way through college.

Willfully ignoring the reality that while he was able to do it with one part time job, the object of his ignorant scorn would need to work about 15 part time jobs.

Boomers really are the worst.

I rerolled because our server is somewhere close to 2:1 faction ratio. It’s not fun and because it’s a constant grief-fest, people tend to not leave big cities making the disparity feel more like 3:1 in the world. The only type of PvP you can hope for on my server as ally is big zerg groups (not fun imo and low honor) or stealth groups. The horde are so thirsty for honor here that they have priests MC at the FP and then attack another horde player they are dueling to remove honorless target debuff… Alternatively you get farmed by groups of horde upon landing and then they camp you for actual honor afterwards

Hey Orcasms, good to see you! heh

I’m on the same server as Orc. I’ve killed him a few times, he’s definitely killed me a few times lol.

We have a horde>ally imba. 65/35 ish. But I still have a good time. /shrug

I can definitely see it sucking for the 50+s trying to level right now though. The horde on our server are suuuuuper thirsty for honor kills.

BGs will hopefully fix that for the levelers.

And that will, also hopefully, be the payoff for being the minority faction.

Allys will have insta-pre-made queues. While horde will wait 30+ minutes to just pug their BGs.

BLizzard made the mistake, they made small servers, layered them up, the removed layers and increased the cap by a magnitude of 3. This happened months after launch when people already were raiding on their 60’s. Yes blizzard needs to fix this it’s 100% their fault.

Fair enough. I’d rather them quit than get a freebie transfer.

There was a lot less blatant griefing back in the day, that’s for sure. It happened sometimes, but things like flight path, graveyard, and corpse camping were exceptions, not the rule like they are now.

There is speculation about how social media is destroying people’s empathy, especially kids. I wonder if the kind of things were seeing today in Classic is a result of that. Back in Vanilla, I feel people were more aware that there were actually fellow human beings behind those red names, and mostly avoided doing things aimed solely at ruining their fun.

I bet if players back then behaved like they do now, the original WoW devs would have done things differently, placing additional restrictions on PvP.

yeah, thats not even close to whats happening right now. i’m not surprised that you have no clue whats happening.

Yes i’ve rerolled before too. 15 years ago. I’ve made alts, 15 years ago.

you know what gets less and less fun every time you do it? rerolling for a 15 year old game you’ve played through a dozen times.

people
will
quit

you should want to protect your server population if you like pvp at all…not encourage people to leave. you’re only hurting yourself dude. you’ll see soon enough.

The core problem we’ve already stated is that they didn’t know what pvp servers with honor was. They got months of playing a fake pvp server. THAT was their experience.

The consequences are they are miserable. The lesson has been learned, trust me. Them throwing more money on blizzard doesn’t even make sense as an additional punishment.

I actually agree with your point. I don’t agree that this is entirely those people’s mistakes. I lay blame on Blizzard’s feet as well. Like I said, P2 honor was a massive mistake for pvp servers. That’s on blizzard. So they have a responsibility for alleviating the consequences of their actions.

Just imagine this dude in rl, lmao.

To be fair, his server is pretty balanced, which disqualifies his opinions about servers that are grossly imbalanced

sounds like pvp happening on a pvp server

reroll pve if you dont like it

blizzard, do not cater to these whiners. whatever you do

The lack of sympathy PvP’rs are experiencing is directly related to their supposed goals.

Vanilla-era PvP was not remotely balanced. The people who enjoyed it are, by and large, what we used to refer to as ‘Oddjobs’ (which references another game entirely) - people who aren’t interested in competition, but only interested in stomping disadvantaged foes. When such an ‘Oddjob’ finds themselves on the other end of that stomping and doesn’t like it… well, there’s not a whole lot of sympathy to be found.

LOL I like how 99% of the people saying something like this “sounds like pvp happening on a pvp server reroll pve if you dont like it” are Horde. I wonder if there is a correlation between that and most PVP servers being vastly Horde one-sided and thus benefiting from this.

vanilla-era PvP was not remotely anything like this in regards to the server population, gear, gold and skill level.

you clearly have no idea what’s happening on some servers right now.

I’d bet whatever that ATLEAST 50% of those saying stop whining would be on here WHINING if the imbalance was the other way around and they couldn’t play at all.
