GDKP is a grey area. It’s effectively RMT by extension. Not something punishable by ToS, but the source of the gold is generally from the past few years of botting and wall / fly hacking exploits inside of dungeons from botters as well as hand-farmed gold sold to other players through RMT.
Nobody is confused about this really.

All the gdkps I have done the highest item to sell was ashes for 41k.
That’s an outlier I haven’t seen anything come close to that.
2nd highest was signet ring at 27k and 100D belt for 20k.

Yes, people can earn 100k gold legitimately. But that doesn’t answer the question of how many people are buying gold, or how many people are earning 100k gold legitimately.
Your post doesn’t prove anything, nor is it a convincing point of view, considering you didn’t say anything else other than a singular fact.
You’re implying that majority of people with lots of gold earned it legitimately, however, there isn’t any reason to believe that.
Anyways, If I had to guess, you play in the middle of the road guild, have very few connections to high level players, or behind the scene markets in the game. So you’re largely ignorant of how much gold selling and buying is taking place.

We just sold a Skull of Gul’Dan for like 35K last night, add that to everything else we sold for a decent 50K pot. A week or two ago we sold a glaive for 50K or something. DST goes for a lot still, it’s hard to get a drop.
It doesn’t need to be amounts of 100K+, selling single items for thousands or tens of thousands of gold is not something that would’ve been as frequently possible during original TBC. Gold flow was much more conservative, dailies for gold are a joke now as a percentage of the levels of income that are floating around.
This economy is massively inflated by bots and RMT, no question.

New accounts aren’t the ones you see as pure buyers. They are almost exclusively alts.
So they should get rid of rmt and bots I’d still be doing gdkps tho.

The vast majority of serious GDKPs are absolutely filthy with RMT gold so you can’t cite them as justification for people having 100k+ when it’s essentially just laundered money.
While there might be some hardcore no-lifers slamming all the dailies on a full stable of alts every single day, being Gordon Gecko on the AH, or doing pally runs for 30-40 hours a week, the vast majority of people throwing down the big time gold are simply swiping their credit card.

You can earn that much gold because the economy of your server is flooded with bots and RMT buyers. If all bots never existed, you could only make money from your own farming/questing and selling items to other people who earn money through legit farming/questing. Making 100k then would be much harder, if ever possible.

I mean playing pretty dam casually not focused on gold at all I have 4 level 70s with epic flying and another 15k spread out between characters. I started getting into gdkps and although some cost me money overall I think I’ve made money (naxx is weirdly a better money maker then bt I think). Also if you actually looked at the people constantly in gdkps they aren’t the ones rmt because they have to have seriously deep pockets. The gdkps guild I go with the gm has at least 4 toons and runs 5 days of raiding. If each day he makes an average of 500g profit he would of made like 100k just raiding for the expansion.
