The WoW Community these days is full of people like this.
They are just waiting to be a jerk for the smallest of reasons.
I got kicked from a group recently because I asked a mage for the int buff on my holy priest. At lvl 32. On the Ahune daily.
I’m still trying to figure out the logic of that move…

I never said the tank was a better person. In this case, I was just telling the OP that saying sorry or oops is always a better answer to someone who doesn’t know you. That it’s a normal dungeon or a low level dungeon is neither here nor there. Some people just really can’t tolerate rudeness.

I agree. I can agree with you and still say that “happens” could come across snarky in a group of strangers. I wish it wasn’t that way and I wish the WoW community was more laid back like in FF14 where a kick probably never would’ve happened for that, but I’m just trying to be logical about all of this. And yet, Sateria is trying to say that “happens” would bother me, when it wouldn’t have bothered me hardly at all. Definitely not enough to vote kick.

After he was kicked:
“can you believe that guy?”
“I know right! People are so toxic!!”
“man, what has become of this community!?!”

This is true. But this level of nuance nuance is too hard to grasp for some people.

That’s fair, but realistically, in game, the kick is pretty low odds. I’ve gone into a million normal dungeons with Yolo routes just to get the weekly done and as long as I’ve said I’m new at the start nobody cares.
Shoot, I still throw the “first time tanking this” out in mists pugs just to get out of managing the maze lol

I think the real reason so much drama comes up from this is the fact that people on here often associate calling out the original posters mistakes in communication with completely defending the other side of people. Though it is true that some folks might be doing exactly that. Most aren’t, but feel that they should tell the original poster their issues with communication so this has less of a chance of this happening again. People see that and automatically assume that the people telling the OP that are trying to defend the warrior’s behavior and go on full offense mode for zero reason.
Lol I used to do that in Legion when I was uncomfortable with certain M+ affixes as healer so if I mess up I didn’t look like an absolute clown.

Yes! And as a tank in m+, it’s worse because you never see anyone else’s route’s.

I honestly think that most people do understand what good manners are. But some would rather just pick sides and argue based on emotions. That’s how it really is in 2021.
This sums it up.

That warrior had no business queuing as a tank and just DPSing, no matter how geared he was.
Jesus, this thread is still going???
It’s unfortunate that this happened to you, Pii. I do agree that the kick was not justified since accidents do happen. Additionally, the Warrior “tank” wasn’t even in the right spec to begin with.
Others are right that saying, 'Happens," instead of, “Sorry, guys,” didn’t help either. If I heard, “Happens,” from a stranger, it could mean they would do it again on purpose. I know that is assuming context, but one could say it’s an attempt for self defence. It’s better to be more clear with strangers.

“Sorry” is even shorter than “happens” so I just use that and it works well.
