People are glad to eat bugs as long as they're eating

Why is it that people are fine with being screwed over as long as they’re there for the ride?

I meant to post this back when It occurred but I was in a Normal Amirdrassil and people were rolling need on clear downgrades on every boss. (Probably to give it to their friend) I pointed this out multiple times up until Larodar when I left and not a single person was on my side. People were literally ninjaing every item and I was told to shut up and that “It’s Just Normal” as to say that it’s okay to spit in someones face as long as you had a breath mint prior.

After I left one of them whispered me something and I don’t remember what, I do remember he was a Ret Paladin. My friend stayed in the group and said that the Ret Paladin rolled and won a Holy Item claiming that “He’s MS Holy and rolling holy but playing Ret” but he was literally rolling on Ret gear the entire time up until I left.

No they were not a group of guildies or friends, sure I bet a few were friends but it was a 20+ friend. I just don’t understand why people are okay with this? Whats the point of even coming to the raid if you’re going to have to roll against Tanks, Dps, Healers and people who don’t even need it on every piece of gear.

So think about this, if they wouldn’t be there you’d have lower geared players that would still roll on gear and might not know what they’re doing. At least you’re getting a better run out of this.

Cant ninja with RNG rolls

You can change your loot spec on a boss per boss basis if you so choose depending on what item you’re looking for from which boss at the risk of being dropped to OS for other gear. And as a side note, i think the only real difference between Ret/Holy gear is a select few trinkets and weapon

So…you just want people to funnel you gear? They’re there for the same reason you are. The lootz. Dont like it? Dont PuG

The only thing I can recommend is that if you want a structured loot distribution system, pugging is not the way. It’s a total mixed bag and you get what you get.

I’m fully geared, I was actually there for the Vault, It was Group Loot buddy. Idk how you’re defending people needing on every item. I didn’t even need loot but I’m not going to sit there watch it happen.

Yes, Pips Trinket.

PuG raid groups are the equivalent of LFR with just better gear, as far as loot distribution goes.

Youre just there hoping to get lucky (i PuG’d Heroic on my Shaman and only got 1 piece the entire run :frowning: but chill group and no drama over rolls)

Needing on a piece of gear that you DONT need. Is ninjaing.

How is it ninja’ing when youre not guaranteed to win the roll thus not getting the gear??? That doesn’t make any sense.

Hey guys! I ninja’d nothing all raid because i didnt win any rolls!!! How awesome am i!!?

You have a BIS 484 Ring > Ring Drops with bad stats > You need on it and Win > you give it to friend.

" A loot ninja, AKA ninja looter or simply ninja, is a player who takes loot to which he or she is not entitled ."

They participated in the kill. Theyre eligible to roll on it per rules of the game.

Also, how do i ninja items when i dont win rolls? I need to learn how to do this so i can start my own raid and ninja every item i want

This isn’t about MY loot btw, I felt bad for the people that actually needed the gear getting screwed by the Druid and Paladin needing on literally every item and somehow winning most of them. I was 475+ like 2 weeks into the Season and this was a normal.

If you don’t win it was an attempted ninja loot. This isn’t an “Against the TOS” ninja looting. This is just having no basic respect for your other raiders by taking gear you don’t need.

My original question is why are people okay with other needing on EVERYTHING, they don’t even need, and I’m still confused because you’re defending these creatures, so no answer, just sympathizers.

I think rolling on things you don’t need when someone else could clearly make use of it is shady behavior but I don’t know that I’d consider it ninja looting. That’s just me.

Was anyone else upset about how loot was handled?

Edit: I also think you need to take a step back and check your emotion. Calling other players “creatures” and immediately labeling other forum goers as sympathizers is not the look.

I don’t raid generally because I hate my chances at getting gear. I did three LFR’s lately though and I got 2 pieces from 3 runs. This last run a healer wearing mythic raid gear won a roll for a mail waist and a hunter who had 418 waist asked if the people who won needed it and I looked a bit later to see if the healer maybe had given it to him but he was no longer in the raid so I think he just left after that.

Blizzard really needs to fix their loot because everyone is greedy now and too many people play for gear progression.

And you can always tell which players are going to be okay with this too - almost all people who started after personal loot happened and never were trained what need is and what greed is.

Another day, another thread about LFR loot and people “who don’t need it” rolling need for it.

People “need” on things for different reasons - even transmog - and if the game lets them roll need, their reason for “need” is just as valid as yours. People may even change loot spec between bosses to help find the specific piece they’re looking for. You may not like it, but transmog IS a valid reason - it’s not the players’ fault that different tints are locked behind different versions of the raid, so there will be people who use LFR specifically to get a different tint. Still valid, since they helped down the boss.

Everyone in the group participated in the kill, therefore everyone in the group has just as much right to the loot, regardless of what their “need” reason is. They won the roll.

That’s not ninjaing, that’s just RNG rolls in action.

Its a pug group. Everyone is there for themselves. Who cares why they need it. If the game.says they can need it, they can need it.

Did you sign a contract that you were willingly and knowingly joining a charity run to gear other people? Or did you join a PuG that was every man for himself?

Again, they participated in the kill, theyre just as entitled to that gear as the lowest geared person in the group.

Needing on a piece of gear you don’t need and intent to give away is Ninja Looting, maybe not by TOS definition but by basic definition you’re taking an item you don’t need.

Needing to give to your friend isn’t a valid reason. IT’s toxic behavior and defending it just shows your moral compass is out of line.

You also made the choice to step into the bug infested swamp so

Entirely missing the point again, people are being screwed on loot due to people there taking loot to give to friends, I don’t understand why people are okay with that, there’s an unwritten rule here that’s. Only need if you Need. It’s implied in the Roll button called “NEED”

But if you want to eat worms then feel free.
