People are defending 554

It’s dumb and most likely an oversight - but calling out players trying to say ‘options are available right now to get you geared - here are some’ is equally dumb.

I detest the whole S1 gating and padding nonsense that has gotten worse every expansion now for a while and am kicking myself somewhat for playing.

It is nothing but an obvious time gate and time sink designed to delay, slow down, and throttle content consumption.

“Justifying it” — players are giving you options. Doing a few weekly quests takes less time than sitting in dungeon queue, and solves the gear problem better and faster.

Imagine being 554…

You see a WQ with 570 gear which requires you to paint 4 sheep.

Is that a “ridiculous amount of of hoops” for a massive upgrade?

Seems like getting a 20 ilvl upgrade in under 5 minutes is way more efficient and less hoop hurdling than running dungeons.

Same for me, I was already doing heroic at 561ilvl and now I can’t anymore, kind of a turn off.

He’s clearly too thick to comprehend common sense.

How is this your response to someone who’s asking for normals to drop gear that would allow for players to advance to heroic dungeons and beyond?

You can easily do heroics if you put in the tiniest amount of effort instead of crying.

So in your mind the “real stuff” is you being fast forwarded to the best gear instantly, while those other people who had every reason to assume they could gear up enough to do heroic dungeons by doing normal dungeons don’t deserve to have any rewards at all. Because they should find the privilege of paying for your content to be the only reward they need.

Sounds like you’re the whiny baby here. Does your main feel threatened if average players are still able to play the game?

Run dungeons till your eyes bleed for 550 gear

Paint 4 sheep for 570 gear

Tell me again which one is “a waste of time” or “too many hoops to jump through”

Because everything you need to get into Heroics is right there, in the open world.

I didn’t farm normals, and was ready for Heroics “just by playing the game”.

They throw gear at you, which can be upgraded to 580+ via valorstones, again, thrown at you just for playing.

I never had this issue, I’m fully slotted in PvP greens, which start out at 558.

But you know what? They upgrade to 580! Easily ready for Heroics, if I wanted to.

If you want to just grind dungeons on normal go ahead, but that’s not the optimal way of getting into Heroics.

EXACTLY!!

Gearing is so stupid easy, you’d have to be trying against the system like this Blood Elf Warlock here. They want it all through Normal dungeons.

There’s also Delves. The devs are trying to get you to play more of the game, you’re just saying “No” lol.

Exactly, my point on why do I need to go through hoops just to do heroics when normal usually drop gears that would allow for one to enter heroics with no issues.

world quests are a thing…

Not hard to understand that Delves replace the purpose of normal dungeon.

Yet I also agree that it was badly done.

And yet they said delves is there for those who wants to do them and if people want to do dungeons they can go though that route and so this is COMPLETELY opposite of that message.

look at all these gate keepers who had it easy gearing up when the ilvl requirement for heroics was lower defending this lol.

Classic Blizzard.

Locking in their new experiment as the most efficient route of accomplishing a particular goal and then saying “it’s still optional, you could spend all month doing WQs instead.”

You act like crafting 490s is expensive.

The “real stuff” is content where mechanics + tuning make it too difficult to be allowed to have an auto-queue, where there is no hard ilvl requirement.

I just don’t understand why can’t normal dungeon gear be upgraded?! It should at least be an explorer level.

It’s literally impossible to gatekeep people in this game.

It’s insane how bad people want to blame others for their own incompetence.
