Payment method help please

Don’t know where else to go so am posting here hoping I can get someone to help. Original ticket US99901697

Issue: The debit card attached to my account for the recurring monthly sub did not process this month. There was no declined transaction at the bank.

No BLizz error my account page looked normal. It just didn’t get sent by Blizz. This card had been used for over a year. I have made transactions on it so I know it is working.

My 1st action was to remove that card info and re enter. That produced a "We had an issue processing your payment. If this persists please click here " with a link. So I retried and it failed again.

I then clicked the link and went through all the trouble shooting steps and also uninstalled and re installed the Bnet on my pc. No go.

I tried removing and re entering the address associated with the account. Still nothing.

Initiated a ticket and after several back and forth texts the final conclusion by the GMs was that the issue had to be on my end. I did find a work around that by using a different card ( from same bank) I was able to get the month sub paid. The GM said well there you go just use that card. Any other issues ask your financial system.
Summary:

Debit card ( Visa ) had been attached to the account and used for payment for over a year. It was still showing as attached.

None of the t/s worked

Using a credit card ( Visa ) from the same bank worked which pretty much shows that there is no issue with my pc in making the payments

On a long shot I did call my credit union to see if there had been a change in their or Visa’s policies in processing payments. There hasn’t.

Me using a different card as a work around is not a resolution of the issue.

Trying to add the debit card today produced a different error " An error has occurred "

Edited to kill wall of text

The most we can recommend, Hairyhrishna, is to clear your browser’s cookies/cache, try using a different browser. Check the information on the account, that the number, expiration, security code, and address you are entering is correct.

I’m afraid we don’t receive any information on why your card may not be able to be entered or otherwise receiving an error.

If everything else seems to be lining up I’d recommend reaching out to the bank and verify again that purchases with Blizzard don’t have any restrictions. If that doesn’t work, you may need to use a different card. Alternately, you might set up a Paypal with the card you want and go through there. That may work. Sorry for the trouble you are having.

Than you for the response. I have double and triple checked that the info being entered is correct and I have tried all of the t/s steps at least twice. For personal reasons I do not use PayPal. I will double check with the bank.

As I said the card was showing as attached to the account as the payment method and had been for over a year. When payment didn’t happen I removed it and thats when the fun began.

Sorry for your troubles. However Vrak is correct as in when a card is denied they are not given any in depth reason as to why it just comes across as a transaction failure.

I work in customer service and it is frustrating for both parties as I am trying to help the customer and they are upset because their card should be working and usually are blaming
Me for its failure.

It honestly could be anything from a flag on the bank account to a security update by card company that sometimes banks aren’t even aware of. Most banks go through a card company for their credit/debit cards so are at the mercy of those companies just like everyone else.

Just to rule out a common mistake… the card isn’t expired, is it?

If one card doesn’t work, but another card does, then it’s being declined by the bank. The merchant is not told why it’s declined, just that it is. Expiration date, zip code, and CCV must all be entered correctly or it will decline. Source: work for a bank, and though I’m not in the debit card area any longer I was in the past.

Thank you for the responses.

Card is not expired is a debit card I use for local and online purchases. It had been tied to the account for over a year and when B net said my sub was expired, I checked the account and the card was still attached. I removed it and attempted to set it as payment method again and that’s when it all went blooey.

I got the initial error " we are having issues processing your payment… etc." Now the error is just " an error occurred" The credit card I eventually used to pay for this months sub is from the same bank. Since it went through I am thinking there is not an issue with my browser or PC.

Checked with my bank and they said no changes were made on their end. And they show no denials of any transactions from Blizz.

I would presume that if they use an external company for card services since both the debit and credit card are VISA changes would affect both of them.

But I honestly have no idea what the card companies do.
