I just want to point out that massive CEO salaries are not so much “capitalism” as they are “American capitalism”.

CEO’s in Japan tend to make only one-quarter of their counterparts in the USA, for example.

If they don’t like the wages, they are free to sell their services to another company.

Except Capitalism allows upward mobility, if you’re willing to work for it. Most other systems function under casts that never really move as everything is tied to a single, non-elected government.

Oh sure, when Venezuelans have to do it because their international trade has been cut off and the CIA is instigating coups in their government to hand their lithium reserves over to Elon Musk, it’s a failure of socialism, but when yokels in Alabama are doing it, it’s a triumph of the rugged capitalist spirit.

CORRECTION: The CIA-backed coup to deliver lithium reserves to Elon Musk was actually in Bolivia, not Venezuela. The recent coup attempt in Venezuela was merely over good old-fashioned oil. My bad, folks! It’s hard to keep all our CIA-sponsored coups of South American socialist governments straight!

You mean the companies that follow the same creed as Blizzard and nearly every single other America based company that currently exists? Buckley v Valeo in 1971 is what started the huge divide between wages and productivity in this country then nearly 5 decades of companies like Activision bribing politicians to ensure that they not only have lower tax rates but they can pay their employees less for doing more work and ensure that employees don’t have any recourse to correct it. Nice try though.

You have to ask whether or not they want to do it. If I chose to go out into the mountains and kill snakes and live of forest shrubs then that’s one thing. Being forced to do it because of an issue with your government is another.

Capitalism has raised people out of poverty whereas socialism has destroyed economies and put people in poverty. Case in point look at Venezuela where they are literally eating stray animals.

Was waiting for an uneducated troglodyte to bring up Venezuela when talking about Socialism despite the fact that all of Venezuela’s plights can be traced back to a non-diverse export profile, importing most of their goods and the complete destabilization of South America by the United States via the overthrowing of democratically elected governments with murder squads and coups.

You are going to have to explain how Venezuela went from one of the richest nations in Latin America and major oil exporter in the early 2000s to one of the poorest nations in the world in the mid-2010s (hint it was due to the failed socialist polices of Nicholas Maduro, a socialist).

What you are trying to do is say that the exploitations of Latin America which occurred decades ago is the sole cause for Venezuela failing while disregarding many events from then to now. Seriously you are in no position to call anybody a troglodyte.
