Pay the damn fine

I don’t think it works like that. Laws are a tricky thing.

Blizzard has the feds on them I don’t think this is pay your fine and your free case. I think there in alot more trouble then you may realize.

That better gave been the world’s best coke for the amount it cost.

Pfizer is the big baddie of evil Pharma. While they’ve gotten good press for ramming through one of the vaccines, they are notorious for evil vulture capitalist tactics. Swooping in, buying companies for their IP, firing off the workforce and selling what assets are left. Companies fear of getting “Pfizered”. Some of Pharma has followed suit, but not all, yet those companies never get any good press for doing the right thing, because Pharma as a whole is an easy target for moralists.

They’re cleaning house so they can be like “whaaat I don’t even know what you’re talking about those people don’t even work here anymore.” :innocent:

The famous  in front of the Judge in Court would make for some really funny memes.

The SEC is very much a “pay your fine” regulator.

The FBI would have to be brought in to pursue any kind of criminal charges against Activision Blizzard or its officers.

The SEC investigated Bernie Madoff FIVE times without taking action. It was the FBI that put him in prison.

Removing all those things in the game, in my mind, is an admission of guilt. They know they did something wrong and are trying to make themselves look good before a court by removing everything suggestive.

It will cost them more than just straight up money. It might cost them their game(s) if they keep up with this erase the evidence boloney, the player base will shrink. They will be paying lawyers tons of money and still might lose in the end. If they just pay the fine AND make real changes within their workplace and not just cosmetic changes, they might have a chance.

Either way, they will be paying tons of money so they might as well stand up and do the honorable thing and admit their wrongdoing, pay the price, fix their internal mess, then get back to making WORLD OF SYSTEMS!

newson being recalled was blizz only chance but now we know this is just the start of a worse totalitarian era for blizz next we know they will censor ingame any key words that relate to whatever polotical party that the media is against no more saying the word red even

It was a South Park reference. LMAO. :man_facepalming:

oh wow executives/CEOs/higher ups are big ol POS biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig surprise there. I hope the people boycotting and telling others to be against Blizzard/WoW does nothing to them. theyve made their money and will live comfortably regardless of what happens to blizzard

It is blood money at this point. Like I said every company does this stuff at some level, they get caught, “change their ways” pay the fine and go back to business as usual when it does down.

That’s the world we live in, Cali is losing tax revenue with the mass exodus of people to other states, and yes that is a real thing, now they needed extra revenue. The went after acti/blizz, but things didn’t go they way they thought like it normally does. Instead of easy state revenue blizz said “nope not us see you in court”.

The feds will hand them a fine and it will go away, they hit Bobby this time himself because it will be a lot easier to get them to pay instead of fighting it when a guy like that’s reputation is on the line.

Did you not read/see the wolf of wall street, they had Belfort dead to rights and say pay the fine and step down we are good. Had he done that or Madoff just stopped after the 4th investigation they would have gotten away with everything Scott free.

This part is a complete joke. If they want to unionize then the form a union and there is nothing that can stop them except shut the company down. UNIONS are formed by the employees, not the management, anyone who thinks it’s the other way around is a complete buffoon. Unions do not need to be sanctioned by management, if enough of them really wanted to unionize they could have done it many times over. All it takes is the majority of employees agreeing, voting and forming.

Unions power comes from the members not from the company. And yes I am a union member at my job, as well as being a former teamster.

Yes there are union busting tactics that companies employee but if you want it bad enough, you record what they are doing and bring report it, during and after the formation.

Acti-Blizz brought this on themselves by fostering such a disgusting culture to begin with. While unlikely, I hope this is enough to drain the pus out of the offices and bring about real change. An ideal state would be for this whole catastrophe to be a nice change for the gaming industry, but that’s wishful thinking. Employees need to be treated better, and honestly there likely need to be more controls in place to tackle workplace harassment, be that in the form of sexual or corporate.

The fact they’re employing retaliation tactics now makes them even guiltier than before, because you only try to silence people if you have something to hide, not when you’re innocent.

Like it or not, Acti-Blizz’s refusal to work with investigating bodies and attempts to downplay the severity of their issues is only going to cause more issues. And while Ubisoft and Riot may have fallen by the wayside, I sincerely hope this one doesn’t. They need to be raked over the hottest coals, and even if all corporations are essentially bad, that doesn’t mean it isn’t enjoyable to watch one sweat when confronted with their demons.

Stupid wild *** guessing ActiBlizz probably could have gotten away with a high seven figure or low eight figure settlement if they had settled with the DFEH back in the summer. But now they’ll probably end up paying that much in legal fees, consultants and the changes in internal staffing they’ve already made. Add to that damages, fines and worse, the reputational damage. EA is probably looking back to the the time when they were the most hated company and are LOLing.

There was nothing to change. The cukture seeped into the game.

The best disinfectant is sunlight

And how many any other big corporations will change as ActivisionBlizzard gets rightly grilled. Probably none.

Never negotiate with terrorists! … Just give them everything.

They’ll drag this out as long as possible. Just to either force the claimants to drop the case or to settle out of court at a lower amount. Big companies will exhaust their legal team’s funding just to achieve one or the other. Typically it results in mass lay offs and firings not long after though and the top dog CEO winds up deploying their golden parachute.

their ego is to high . remember " you think you do but you dont" their so out of touch with reality and out of touch of people outside california.

I agree with you just didn’t know there was a countersuit? Wth? Why?

I used the wrong wording, I meant fight, it was late I was tired had been up 36 hours at that point. Saw a green text pointed it out also but was more obnoxious in pointing it out. Thanks for not posting a wall of text about me typo like the above mentioned.
