Ok so I used to dislike these orders but now I love them.
They’re so expensive it has effectively scared off my competition and now I’m making 50k per 590 craft.
Glad to see these orders happen.

Not sure what people are complaining about in the first place. They’re selling you the solution to your problem.
Blizzard took a page out of the scammers book from DF and offers you 20g to make an item where the mats are 13k gold.
No they aren’t. They made a new problem.
In DF we had a weekly quest for Mettle alongside 2 weekly quests for knowledge. In TWW we have 1 quest for knowledge and no quests for Acuity.
They replaced the quests we had in DF with this patron order garbage.
People had the gold printing fantasy. Now, they too can collect 10k gold or they wanted easy skill ups.
My tailoring has 4 rank 4 sparks gear requiring 30k-60k mats for 80g and 3 knowledge. And they don’t refresh or drop off, been this way for 2 weeks.
Agreed that they should have listened to me and others who were actually crafting in Dragonflight, instead of the complainers who DEMANDED that Blizzard focus on NPC work orders, instead.
Blizzard really should have told that crowd to shove it.
3 knowledge is a bargain for any price really.
I mean it could be if I could craft the rank 4 gear but I cap rank 3 on sparks gear. And it’s in the way for me to get Acuity to upgrade my crafting gear.
110% agree. Though if you have to use more material, provide a better reward.
If i have to have a level 4 crafted epic piece, id hope id get more than 10 dust haha
The variance in the materials supplied by patrons is pretty insane. I’ve had the epic shield ordered from blacksmithing from the same npc twice, one with no mats asking for a 4* craft and one with all mats provided asking for a 2* craft.
I can appreciate a little realism in games, but having the patrons perfectly emulate public work orders from dragonflight is probably a step too far. Also its weird the patron ordered a worse shield after already getting a good one, obviously it’s randomly generated stuff but dang, you could at least random up a new npc for the order lol.
…you just want the system to be more easy and free for you.
big surprise.
The thought ever come to you that it wasn’t meant to be free or easy? It’s something to plan around and strategize with, so you can make your own decisions on what’s worth it.
You guys realize you are playing a game right?
They are also playing on servers that may result in very little return on investment while others will have great return on investment. Blizzard created a system that is inherently unfair and it really could use a lot of adjustment.
In DF people were able to go out and do quests weekly for kp. And pick up a quest weekly for AA equivalent. There was no need to go to the current extreme in terms of cost. All they are doing is creating a situation most players can’t afford to progress their professions.
My LW is way far ahead of my others - engineering is second. I don’t think I have been able to do a single enchanting one yet. They are all for trees I don’t have and I usually farm my own mats but it is impossible to do with enchanting given the lack of greens. So that one is going to be the last I get leveled up.
was really cool that gazlow wanted some fully kitted bracers with all the bells and whistles from me on week one
brother like why order (and ones like it) allowed to proc this early
Suppose with the profs that branch off multiple times to unlock 60 different recipes, they’d be the worst.
Hope blizzard takes this feedback and lowers patron orders for recipes you don’t know.
Needs to be monitored though so people don’t just learn the cheapest recipe so they can spam easy patron orders… Not sure how they’d profit from that but I’m sure someone would find a way.
Do you?
I’m greatly enjoying patron orders personally.
It’s the heartbeat of activity that was missing before because of non-existent player work orders.
I think there could have been a few more trivial jobs, especially at the start of the expansion. I feel like there’s still a lot of room to tweak and tune and iterate, but as a conservative first pass, I’m not unhappy with what they came up with.
THe problem is, the only way I’m getting points now IS work orders. I do not have any recipes that don’t require sparks that also give points other than that burning ember nonsense. Oh, and you can only have 10 of them at a time, so you HAVE to use them to make more.
I think that most if not all of the orders I’ve seen were theoretically possible to complete with the time and KP we’ve had if I’d held back to see what orders appeared and then specced hard to reach them. But yes, they are very demanding in a lot of cases.
