Pathfinder Part 2 can still work, but it needs to change

It should still roughly remain the same format, but instead of lumping flying into Pathfinder Part 2 every expansion, the following:

Flying AND Faster Ground Travel in Part 1, requires 9.0 Content Completion.
Flying AND Faster Ground Travel in Part 2, requires 9.2 Content Completion.
Flying AND Faster Ground Travel in Part 3, requires 9.3/9.4 Content Completion.

Basically, keep the faster ground travel, but enable flying on getting Parts in a given expansion’s life-cycle.

Assuming PVP is going to be an argument, the Faster Ground Travel would assume you can’t fly or get dismounted upon engagement in Warmode.

the fact it isnt live yet regardless of the terms we have to complete just goes to show now how lazy they have gotten, and how little they care about us having it

I’d much rather them just scrap the Pathfinder part 2 and give us flying after we achieve pathfinder part 1 AND make pathfinder part 1 and the flying it unlocks attainable before the 1st patch is released.

I’d be fine if they made the requirements a little more difficult/time consuming as long as all the criteria were obtainable at launch and flying could be unlocked as quickly or slowly as a player decided.

I’m still waiting for them to drop the “Oh, BTW, we’ve decided that you’ll actually need Pathfinder Part 3! Have fun!”

:man_shrugging: i’ll take delayed flying over no flying at all, which was their first idea in WoD development.

Another bickering thread about flying… smh.

I have actually found Pathfinder 1 to be accomplished simply by completing content, so there really isn’t a grind, per se. (assuming you are doing quests and WQ in each zone)

However, the Pathfinder 2 requirement will entail another rep to Revered and a zone to explore as well as quests to complete. In other words, more of the same, just new content. Nothing wrong with that, imo.

Pathfinder 1 is reasonable. The part 2 is just being jerks.

I think I am finally burned out from this game. Already cancelled sub and maybe a week left of time and don’t even have any urges to logon and do anything that is fun to do. The only thing left that’s even remotely fun is to prick people with https://www.wowhead.com/item=163607/lucilles-sewing-needle and turn them into Witches.

This whole pathfinder joke can be fixed by simply remove the asinine requirements entirely. Set a date where flight will be opened up at max level and gold cost.
That way we still have to wait until they feel like the expansion is far enough in that everyone whos running it currently has spend enough time in the expansion on the ground, but when a new player starts WoW in the NEXT expansion they arent quitting over feeling like pathfinder in OLD content is consuming all the time they want to invest in CURRENT content.

pathfinder is probably really high on the list of lost sub numbers given how much of a stink resulted from the whole 'no more flight" scare in WoD.
People dont forget. Especially when pathfinder keeps rubbing salt in the wound.

Agreed. I was fine not flying on the new patch zones in MoP also (Isle of Thunder, Timeless Isle, Isle of Giants) and would be OK with not flying on future mini-zones like that, provided, they’re actually mini-zones like we had in MoP and have easy to navigate routes & short cuts like we had on the Timeless Isle. A zone like Argus or Tanaan Jungle is too big for a no flying mini-zone IMO.

IMO they’re (Blizzard) missing a lot of opportunity for exploration, unique quests/activities with their stance on flying. Order of the Cloud Serpent was a fantastic use of flying in their content for example.

I am a for-gold person too, I am pro-flying. I am trying to think of a compromise within a compromise.

its absolutely INSANE that Bliz pulls this crap.
Most of us want to fly. Even the ones claiming they dont want flight…FLY…and they all know it.

So much more this game could be if blizzard would get off their infantile horse and just make the game with flight in mind.
Jesus Christ…the talent of folks posting in this very forum could probably come up with thousands of ideas for quests and content that would COMPLIMENT flight instead of trying to remove it.

I personally like not having to spend gold on each character for flight. They could implement a system where the players could choose though. Either unlock via pathfinder (only part 1!!!) OR pay with gold one time for to unlock on all characters (like pathfinder unlocks for all characters) after a set time frame (no longer than it would require for pathfinder to be completed)

actually thats a perfect idea.

That’s also a good idea, more options is nice.

I will NEVER accept going back to gold cost for each character. Seeing how everything is gold inflated, namely the upcoming heirloom upgrade cost and the roll tokens, I shudder to the thought of how expensive new expansion flight would be…

The big problem with only needing part 1 is adding new areas would be a pain… they’d have to add trigger walls all around to prevent flying in that new zone until part 2 is done.

They’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Worked just fine in MoP - we could fly in all the main leveling zones, the new content areas were no-fly zones but they were small enough to where you could navigate & travel just fine w/out flying. e.g. Timeless Isle, Isle of Giants & Isle of Thunder
