Just think. You turn it into a gold sink instead and you can get players to buy more wow tokens. I dunno just popped in my head.

I hope this exact thought Is what the devs implement. More options is a good thing.
Player agency is a good thing.
And, gold does not have to be currency used. People who are against gold purchase have a reasonable point, since Blizzard went down that bad path when they implemented tokens. (Tokens are the thing Blizzard should regret as a terrible, irreversible design constraint, not flying).
A new currency, earnable in multiple play styles, and flight as soon as you can achieve it.

but waiting a year for an effing part2? NoâŚI dont think so. That needs changed. In fact, part 2 needs removed all together.

It keeps people subbed longer, which means more money for Blizzard, which means more money to pay employees, which means more potential productivity, which means high quality content and so on so forth.
When asked to remove pathfinding, Blizzard said: Noâ˘

I think thatâs his point, there have been thousands of threads on this yet still no changesâŚ
PF WAS a change from how they handled it for three or four expansions.
They changed flight acquisition to this method; no reason to think they cant change it again.
I agree that some form of time gating and a PF like thing is going to be in place. That is, I think, inevitable.
Flight sooner, and available to be attained in multiple ways, though, is where I am hoping the dev team goes.

No, we bought flying for four expansions, then earned Pathfinder in three. After the next expansion youâll be right, but not now.
Donât make it easy for Blizzard to ignore feedback by lying.

agreed, and given they wonât even discuss maybe even just removing pathfinder pt2 or actually make content around flying almost makes you wonder if at this point its just spite?
Pathfinder 2 was their compromise, doubt its going anywhere.
Its not as bad as people make it out to be, especially with the new no-daze mount equipment.
i support the op i hate pathfinder this xpac. previous attempts where fine. WoD was a little scary but legion was spot on.

it is pretty bad though. like repeat content for about 3 odd weeks from neutral straight with the same 4 odd quests. ( 9 odd world quests )
daily. probably est 2 hours a day just to get it fully done.

What changes with flying?
The whole game model shifted though and therefore they needed to shift how flying was obtained. Gold became too easy to make, for those who knew how to work the AH. The only other alternative would be to make flying cost something like 500k gold, due to how many people have millions of gold stockpiled, but then that wouldnât be fair to the players that didnât play the AH and save up a ton of gold.
I think lots of people get caught up in the âwe boughtâ arguments, and just target focus about Gold as the currency.
Gold isnât the only currency in the game, and Blizzard creates different currencies for different reasons. They have multitudes of currencies, but since gold is the main one, and flight has been purchased with that previously, everyone just target fixates on gold as being the only currency solution.
It isnât.
Flight was previously tied to approximate the cost of the gold earnings of having leveled through an expansion and the quest rewards.
Gold is now not a currency that can be tied like that anymore, due to tokens and the quantity of gold in the economy generally.
A new currency though can be directly tied to activity in the new expansion, (making all players essentially equal), and making the entire argument about how much flying should cost in ânewâ gold terms irrelevant.

Skygolem grind on ground route = 15 mins
skygolem fly route with those winter flowers = 15 mins round trip
im super casual this xpac. thats all i want to do. just fly around and farm herbs.

Grab contract and get it done. Diplomacy must be op, i got pf2 done in 2 weeks casually.
Did you do all the world quests on zand and kultiras ?
