As an old timer (game and life) pathfinder is fine.
Forcing skyriding was an odd choice, however. One bliz knew would make people salty AF upfront. I canât fathom their reasoning, but it obviously made sense to the decision makers.
The world may not have grown as much as it seems, but bliz was allowed to create vast open areas that sky/dragon riding just made sense.
Nothing will replace the finesse/usefulness of normal flight.
Nothing will replace the speed of fast flying.
I think the lesson Bliz may learn going forward, assuming they pay attention, and they usually do, is simply offer both from the start. Each serves a role now, but no one likes being forced into something. Especially if itâs an accessibility issue. Some PCs canât handle skyriding as well.
Or better yet incorporate both forms into one. If I could skyride with the exact feel/control of normalâŚwhy thatâs Shangri-La.

This is the only logical decision, getting one form of flight at launch and locking the other behind pathfinder is just being childish at this point.
Now if we got the âold crappy flightâ at launch and had to pathfinder the flight that makes the world smaller, it would make sense. Either that or lock both behind the achievement and ground us at launch.
Just get rid of all pathfinders, old expansions shouldnât have a flight lock nor should one form be locked at launch.
If itâs still a PvP thing, then ground everyone everywhere in Warmode. Wonder how that would work outâŚ
