Pathfinder deal with it

“So I decided to make another one!” said the problem.

Then why did “Soon” become “week, not months” become actual bloody months? I was here. The date was delayed again and again. Because the world wasn’t designed for flight. Then they stopped giving dates. Then it still took months. “6.2” became 6.2.2.

No, they didn’t use 2D facades like in BC starter zones, but that’s because they didn’t actually decide on no flight until the basic (literal) groundwork was laid during development. The devs specifically said they stopped considering flight before launch while finishing the zones.

Tanaan: 6.2
Flight: 6.2.2

Nope.

This thread is a vaccine, and vaccines have a little bit of the problem to cure the disease.

And idk why it took so long. All i know is that draenor was very much designed with flying in mind. Look at the rocket feather we had. Even if it would have been enabled during legion.

The point remains the same. Play the content and once exhausted earn the skip ability. In this case flying.

Pathfinder was the only sensible compromise. The only thing it needs is to unlock flying at launch, no part 2 nonsense.

Where and when?

This thread is a bad joke.

And you are the picture beside “shill” in the dictionary.

And when will that happen if flight stops being a current discussion topic? “Oh, the player base isn’t talking about it anymore. I guess we’ll roll back some of the changes they seem to be fine with now.”

Hell, I think the concept of Pathfinder is BETTER than Flight licences. I run a lot of alts. I’d rather do 1 2-week grind than fork out “moderate to heavy damage to your gold bank” for every alt during every expansion. Which is literally what more than half the pro-flight crowd is asking for: an end to year-long time gating.

On the forums they’ve since deleted. While GD was literally > 50% flying threads during the months, not weeks, we were waiting for flight to show up after they said it was coming back.

“For now” Really downplaying the issue there. Its been a problem since WoD.

But pretend otherwise.

Not only have the old forums not been deleted from the internet, but had any developer ever come to the forums and said, straight up “We realized during development that we weren’t going to allow flying ever again, but we decided to string everyone along anyway”…it would have been news with every gaming news service that exists and would be archived somewhere.

Haha how am I shill? I dont benefit anthing from shoving anti path people’s entitled laziness to their face.

“Oh woe is me i work too much, my casual self cant possible waste time farming rep. Plz design the game around my needy needs”

Plz, I work full time too and have to balance game time with my personal life and i still got flying after coming into 8.2 late.

Way, to dismiss what you quoted btw.

PF is bad game design.

This is not a guess it is based on game experience. I agree 100%. People that are against patchfinder have tried it and don’t agree with parts of it or even any of it IMVHO.

All pathfinder is is exploring, quest chains, and rep. Thats like 50% of wow solo content. How is it bad design that it only requires you to complete relevant content before you have the ability to fly.

The only sensible argument is not giving part 2 at launch. Everything else is pure LAZINESS. Holy crap man.

It WAS news. It was big news!

Here’s some of it:
https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1576652-A-possiblity-no-longer-Zharym-confirms-Draenor-not-designed-for-Flight

Check out the link to the Dev’s statement in the OP.

Oh, wait, you can’t. They deleted it.

And to be clear, there were Devs saying they always planned to put it back in at the same time as there were others saying they had stopped designing for it during development. Then they all just stopped talking all together.

Straw. Man.
Some people would prefer gold to achieve. Those people have more gold than alts, and it’s not the majority. Most people just hate the 12-month wait. I HAVE Pathfinder. I have EVERY Pathfinder. In BFA I resubbed ~1 month before PF2 dropped, spent a week farming it and a week in Mechagon/Nazj. I have no problem doing that. It’s about the same amount of game time it took me for each alt to get Cold Weather Flying, so it was a real time-saver.

But I’m not buying or subbing in SL until I hear that Patchfinder X.0 is on the Ptr. And then I’ll only buy if I’m truly hard-put-up for a game I want to play and/or the word of mouth for the expansion is really good.

Your “pro-flyers are boo-hooing” conceit is simply your own projection.

Have you not been reading my posts??? I said that I agree with omiting part 2…

I do not agree at all to call it laziness. When people pushed back on MoP dailies they were not called lazy and those were MoP raiders. And MoP raiders had a right to be displeased to be forced to grind MoP dailies IMVHO.

It is laziness. Once again exploring, completing quest chains, and grinding rep is not much to ask. It’s not like they’re asking for exalted.

The only issue is part 2.

I don’t agree because WoW is not designed like FF where questing is integral to telling a story.

WoW’s endgame has been heavy instanced PVE and PVP since BC/WotLk/Cata.

With the way the war campaign was segmented in BFA there is no point to the world quest system. The world quest system does not tell a story of the expansion.

In the past when we had dailies and you progressed you unlocked new daily hubs. That was progression and part of the story telling.

World quests do not provide such progression in story telling or how the expansion goes along. The same world quests I did bug reports for in BFA beta are the same ones now for patch 8.3

Oh God, I remember this. This was such a blatant case of spin-doctoring and it was done to death years ago. Zarhym didn’t mean that Draenor the continent was designed without flight in mind. He meant that the game content that we partook in was designed without flight in mind.

No there weren’t.

They can keep Part 2 for all I care. So long as Part 1 unlocks Part 1 zones, that’s the important bit.

If I’m fully exploring a zone and getting Revered with the dominant faction there, I expect flight there to be unlocked.

Take Legion, A PF1 to unlock the levelling zones, PF2 for Suramar, and PF3 for the Broken Shore wouldn’t have just been mechanically consistent, it would have made sense in the Lore! The skies over the Broken Isles would have been HELLA dangerous before we pushed back the Legion forces or deposed Elysandra!

But rather than make sense mechanically, thematically, and lore-wise, Ion had to stick to his spiteful template.

Flying is only helpful in the open world. Whats the main content in the open world? Is it instanced pvp or pve? No!

What is part of open world content? Oh that’s right, quests, exploring, rep grinds. Well ill be.

LAZINESS. Dont wanna play world content. Then no flying simple as that.

Nobody said it was hard. That is a strawman. It is boring and I do not ever like to finish the quests once I hit level, let alone get all the reps up. If they made a better game to begin with and I hadn’t unsubbed, maybe I would have it by now, but that does not mean it not a stupid system that only gets propped up by fanboys like yourself who’s only argument for it is “Blizzard said so, So I like it”…

Pathfinder to gate content and make sure people play the game as Blizzard intended, i get it. I think they need to be consistent though, remove all BigWigs , raiding mods, handy notes, tomtom , or any other mod that makes playing the game a reaction rather than interactive. allow only UI static mods like bars, unit frames and movers. The encounter has these environment AOE’s and boss attacks the user should be using his own skills to detect and mitigate not that of a loud buzzer noise and flashing screen.

No I do not agree.

Because there is more to world content than questing. There is gathering professions, pet battles, etc.
