I am seeing different thoughts and seeing uncertain results. Can someone clarify?
Can Pathfinder be completed with combined results of multiple alts? If you use the Wowhead flying tool it only shows results for individual alts. For example, I have explored Nazj on one and Mech on another. Those are easy enough. But can I have an Ally alt hit Revered on Mech and a Horde character hit Revered on The Unshackled and have it count?
Take a look at the Pathfinder 2 on all your alts, you’ll see all alts show the same progress so they’re clearly sharing progress … a Horde character did Naz. exploration for example and my Alliance characters have that marked as completed.
I’m doing pathfinder part 1 and realized that even though I’ve completed all 3 Zuldazar stories, it doesn’t count unless I do them all on the same character.
Update… i just went to wowhead and read through BFA Pathfinder requirements, and it pretty clearly says different segments of it (Parhfinder) can be completed on different but same faction characters.
So why does the P2 achievement on my Alliance character show Naz. exploration in GREEN when it was done on a HORDE character?
Clearly these components of P2 ARE account-wide … true, my Horde and Alliance characters have different reps. but the rest are common … so I’m assuming that I can do the Mech. exploration on Alliiance and it will count on Horde just like the Naz. one did the other way round.
Once all 5 components of P2 are green it will complete … account-wide.
[edit]
Since the Rustbolt rep. is common I expect this to be also a case of doing on one faction DOES complete it for the other, but that remains to be seen although for consistency it should.
If a character on an account gets an achievement on pathfinder it is shared, but not rep progress etc.
explore the zone, get achievement, and it goes into the superbly aggravating pathfinder meta achievement.
hit max level, fly within five minutes and retroactive to all prior old zones, without needing to do long drawn out pathfinder, just maybe a 5 minute quest.
but don’t hold your breath, taking away stuff and then having you do it all over again be it gearing or flying is the new bliz meta game.
They can give all the partial credit they want. As far as FLYING goes, it doesn’t matter for schitte.
You’re going to have to grind out rep PER CHARACTER! And guess what? When you’re grinding out rep, that stupid stuff they “were so cuddly and nice and gave to you for free across all your alts?” You’d get that garbo ANYWAY.
OOH OOOH! I was able to unlock the “Explore Mechagon” on my Alliance alt!! Who cares? You’re going to unlock that when you begin farming rares for REP anyway. It’s a complete non-issue.
You’re not getting ANYTHING for free if you can’t share the reps. The reps are ALL THAT MATTER.
“Both achievements are account-wide, so you can complete the following segments below on different characters as long as they are part of the same faction.”
Right, Pathfinder 1 is one “segment”, you can complete that on one toon, and Pathfinder 2 is a seperate “segment” and you can complete it on a different toon. Each part has to be completed by the same toon in its entirety. They are account wide in that once you complete them all toons on your account will have access to flying for that expacs zones and you dont have to do it again on each alt.
No, all requirements for pathfinder 1 have to be completed by the same toon. All requirements for pathfinder 2 can be done by a different toon but that toon has to complete all the steps.
The way meta achievements work has not changed for some time:
You can complete the meta achieve (like Pathfinder part 1) on multiple characters. HOWEVER: Progress for the achievements themselves are not shared. For example you could get Vul’dun and Zandalari rep achievements on one character, and Nazmir rep achievement on a second character, and both characters would have the completion for 3/3 rep achievements.
You cannot partially complete an achievement on one character, example 5/8 rares killed, and kill the other 3 on a second character for credit.
tl;dr - multiple characters can contribute achievement completion to a meta achievement, but multiple characters cannot contribute progress to the same achievement.
