No, a very sensible idea, seeing as how they were able to give the players gimmick flight at the start of the expansion. There is no game reason not to make it available as easily as gimmick flight was - their reasons are purely time metric based.
Is static flight enabled “for testing” tho? If you need 15 with Dream-whatever faction too, I doubt anyone on the PTR has that.
I dont feel sorry for the apathetic sort…they more make me physically ill being in their presence or having to listen to their word salads.
Its been explained more than enough now, so we can easily conclude some miserable sorts have decided to spend their time today projecting…ie trolling… that misery onto folks in this thread who clearly have been complaining since release about having at least the three issues I mentioned above that cause them to have trouble with dragonriding.
What they said in the very brief blue note was:
Unlocking pathfinder will allow you to use your non-dragonriding mounts in the Dragon Isles.
The bit missing from that is anything about the mode of flight those non-dragonriding mounts will use. I have been optimistically believing it is standard flight - but they don’t actually say that…
I think i may have mentioned already somehere in here…how odd it is that people who clearly have NO personal interest in a topic cant help themselves but come into said topic for no other reason but to insult and berate other persons trying to discuss that topic.
the behavior says much more about the ones doing the pointless insulting than it does the insulted.
I figure this point will be entirely nonsensical to those Im referring to.
I feel like the pathfinder kinda doesn’t make sense. People can already dragon ride, theres not really any advantage except for people like me who get nauseous during fast movement and have hand problems cuz u have hold the mouse button while ur “aiming” where u fly. I’ve done every single pathfinder since wod and I just don’t see the reason for it now on. Instead allow everyone to dr everywhere and allow more freedom. I will prefer the slow speed on normal flying too so take that as u will. 🪽 FREEDOM!
Hm, Ive done a fair few beta tests and it is quite common to alter the requirements for something in order to test it. If they wanted to test the implementing of this flight option in DF, they could easily waive the PF requirements and just let people test it out.
I mentioned above about how day of DF release I was having migraine related vertigo and it was really bothering me. I managed to get most of the Dragon Glyphs quick enough, but that one up highest there on that insanely high mountain top took me nearly an hour because the motion of the screen and the perceived height was making me nearly have to vomit. lol.
My condition is very controllable. My BP med actually treats migraines as well, so I only have that every now and then.
If I had that every day, DRing would be nearly unbearable.
Normal flight doesnt rip and zip around like dragon riding and isnt any worse than a ground mount, so it woudnt be an issue.
I imagine enough players are having it that extreme with DRing, and even if it is a smallish number, you’d think blizzard could get past the petulance and ego to just let players have normal flight for the SAME kind of work done for dragonriding.
Exactly most of us with disabilities just want the normal 310% speed and hover. Thats all. I have hand problems so I can’t do anything crazy like a +30 or whatever. Just my opinion tho so anyones free to disagree. 🪽
Some people like use that to gain attention while people on here like me who has a disability who want the opposite.
the achievement is require on the ptr and I am sure it be tested within next few builds.
The whole point is for people to throw up their hands and not do the grindy stinking pathfinder so they can say “no one wants old flying” DF has been all about manipulating metrics to enable them to kill flying. Once they can kill old flying, they will kneecap dragon flying in new zones. you can bet on it. Ion is in his war on flying and nothing will change that. Blizzard needs to bring new blood in.
Honestly, there’s really no reason to. We already have normal flight in Dragon Isles when we die.
Absolutely agree.
I actually do have pretty bad nerve damage in my hands, but it just so happens that the manner in which it affects my hands doesnt affect my ability to use the keyboard much.
What might happen is if I were to be in a long raid boss battle after a while my hands/fingers will completely freeze up. Like wont be able to control fingers well enough to press keys reliably.
Just another reason not to raid, lol.
But unlike some, I cant sit here making bogus, uneducated claims such as…
…because having enough nerve damage about my own body, I know just how real it is.
Yea I was mostly curious if static flight was the same speed on PTR after unlocked by Pathfinder achieve. I suspect it’ll be the same 410/420 to distinguish their new flight system and keep it as the “premier” system.
i wont. i held off on bfa flying till they gave it for free. lol had to have help to get legion and wod pathfinder. pathfinder is not nice. its mean.
I’m sure it is. There’s no reason it would be changed. That would just mess up static flying for people that need/want the lower speed.
Fun fact: I have friends who quit because they couldn’t keep the slower flying speed now, since we auto learn faster ones now.
There’s all sorts of situations.
and yet u claim I was looking for attention…
Hello, I see you posted a thread about Flight: Adventure in the Sky. Pathfinder shouldn’t even exist anymore! In a world where Dragonflying is a thing, the very idea of pathfinder makes literally zero sense, haha! Normal flying should just be unlocked and that’s it!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
been avoiding dragonflight for awhile now because its just frustrating to play. i decide to level this mechagnome and once on dragon isles, attempt to dragonride to valdraken. took a half hour lol gads i hate dragonriding.
I love both types of flying but ANYTHING locked behind a pathfinder is BS for their new “retention metrics”. Pathfinder needs to go and i thought it was a lession they learned already when they gave us our mounts so fast in dragonflight. Guess not. They had to find some BS back in
In what way did they learn a lesson? True it made some people angry, they formed an echo chamber in the forums and the big sub CCs farmed them for clicks but how do you know how the players in general felt about path finder?
Maybe the majority hated it, maybe they didn’t care. There’s no way to tell.
