Patch Initializing

My connection speed seems to drop really low when initializing a patch. Are the servers rate limiting anyone else?

I am having the same issue as well trying to download this so i can log in. Check all my throttling settings no limits.

I’m not sure what is even being downloaded but the speeds are so incredibly low that I had to check to make sure it wasn’t just me. This is going to take hours at this rate.

Just FYI the PLAY button is displayed this time before the download is complete.
Just wait for the last reclame at end…
Wow … Blizzard Forums Battle.net https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/blizzard

Having the same problem with initializing.

im having the same issue

Why does this take so long? Been here for 20 minutes waiting for it to count up to initialize todays little patch. Whatever it is doing is barely moving any data to my install disk.

Same here. Seeing 25-35KB/s average over CenturyLink fiber. Connection is established to 137.221.64.3, which appears to be routed via Level3. Peering issue?

This has been a common occurrence lately

Same issue here, happened last week too, seems common, I know crap happens but this is a first and seems now to be common.

I’m only getting ~30KB a second. Hopefully this gets resolved soon so I don’t miss raid :weary:

Blizz’s hamsters are tired apparently.

34+ minutes and counting… (12.4 KB/s) PATHETIC!

Maybe seed your distribution points before making it mandatory to install before being able to login.

1GB Verizon FiOS connection…

Love wasting the time I have to play for a FAILED patch push…

Adding on to this that after waiting an hour for barely any progress I pulled up task manager and completely shut down anything bnet. Rebooted it a minute later and finished within seconds… Only to get stuck halfway through the actual download. Oh well guess I’ll try again.

I was able to start the game manually and log in. You have to enter your PW and MFA code, but it worked for me at least.

Yeah, I ended up rebooting my computer, helped get through the initializing slug speed.

The download was still slower than normal, but something was very wrong with that initializing until I rebooted.

good. Glad it’s not me. I was wondering what was going on since I have a powerful PC and get basically zero lag and patches have been quick.

Not for nothing but I’ve noticed this has been happen more and more as of late.

I feel like we’re going back in time here.

I restarted my computer as it usually fixes things like this. A lot of times my download speeds will be ridiculously low when my computer comes out of sleep mode. I restart it and it always fixes it. Not this time.

this worked…go figure rofl
