Patch 9.1 in a Nutshell:

“Why does Blizzard throw out old features???”

“Why doesn’t Blizzard throw out old features???”

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I think the Maw is salvageable as game content and hence I think it makes sense to put more resources into it to try to redeem it.

That’s what Gd does best!

I hear you. I do not love the maw.

But maybe they are changing what the players do not like about it? They are adding a new area to it and it is the home of the new raid.

Maybe we should see the changes before we say blizz is intentionally doing things that the players hate.

I’m sure some players will hate it, i’m sure some will love it. Can’t make everyone happy.

I mean, we got the general idea behind the patch, but we still have no idea what else is there that might make or break it in regards to reward structure and such.

If I had any concern, it’s with the fact that it’s still not even on the PTR yet.

If Blizzard listened to what the forums say they hate, they’d develop absolutely nothing, because literally every single thing they make, someone on these forums has complained about excessively.

So it’s a good thing they look at data and facts to determine what they should focus on.

He isn’t scary now so we might as well move in and redecorate the place.

“Just clear level 16 of twisting corridors!”

I have a mount, and I still don’t like it.

I’m sorry, but what do you expect? Dude rules their version of Hell (or, at the very least, a really terrible Purgatory).

Of course if some shiny jerk like us just waltzes in from some random reality to jailbreak a few SOULS away, why wouldn’t you expect the ruler of a plane of existence to just turn around and be like…

YOU

…and start slinging Shang Tsung powers all over the place?

I like The Maw, WoW could use more dangerous open areas. A bit of danger never killed anyone, it just makes them scream ‘tedious’ at the top of their pampered lungs

well I think is a given that you will be there alot since the xpc is designed around defeting the guy who’s locked there

That’s lame. At the same time, I can see why, if the story about the four covenants flat out invading the place Avengers: Endgame style is to be believed.

/uninstall

I’ll be damned if I have to clear that high for account wide flying

It’s not the main reason for me.

There’s supposed to be some way to do that, yes. Something to do with the Eternal Ones helping us now, so the Jailer’s eye is either busy elsewhere or limited or something.

Yup, which is why I probably won’t be playing much of 9.1.

looks at all the dead bodies in the Maw

Joking aside, it isn’t dangerous to me, it’s just completely uninteresting. I’ve done nothing in the Maw except the intro quests, get my souls and maybe kill one of those quest bosses near the souls. That’s it. I spend zero time there otherwise. Not because it’s dangerous, but because I hate the place and have no interest.

If there was no lock, you would complain that you are “forced” to farm stygia all day every day to compete. Similar to islands or ap MoS runs.

It’s a weekly quest that can be done after rank 5…

You don’t.

The only requirements for flying in Shadowlands are getting your renown to a certain level and completing the 9.1 covenant storyline on at least one character. The two are effectively intertwined, with flying being the reward for completing the patch story, but you’ll only unlock stages of the story as you get more renown levels.

I know flying is tied to renown. Which is just dumb at this point considering how long it takes to build renown. Should have just stayed with pathfinder.

My comment was based on the minor joke that other guy made

Is 8 days a long time?
Cause that’s all it takes to get from 1-40

That is a COMPLETELY inaccurate statement.

You called him on being a pessimist and I’m calling you on putting words into other peoples mouths.

With the catch up sure. Not when its current. That takes weeks if not months to get to whatever cap they will extend it too.

Even so still at this point I’d rather have pathfinder to unlock account flying. It saves me alot of time and I can work at my own pace with it.

I absolutely love a challenge and danger. I am consistently trying to do things I shouldn’t be powerful enough to do. And yet … I hate the maw.
