I am in full support of the Cross RP, my guild and I have been using it immensely for our Role-Play events and when taking part in Community RP events for months since it was created and have made alot of good friends and allies with this Cross RP add on, I would like to see Blizzard find in some way to fix this issue hopefully.
Stop nerfing fun Blizzard.
Cross RP was an impressively well-made add-on that expanded what was possible in RP. Itâs really a shame to see it go like this after the work and thought that went into it.
Fingers crossed that Blizzard may reverse this decision or see this reaction as a sign that the communityâs desire for cross-faction communication is only increasing.
I never used this add on because I didnât know it was a thing. ED recently had a multi scale rp event to celebrate Darkshore and something like this would have made both coordination and rp 100 times easier and better! I hope Blizzard reads this forum and either lets you re-enable it or creates a way for us to do something similar. Something else I would love that this reminds me of is the ability to teach our characters other languages. Lore wise so many of the leaders speak so many languages⌠why canât the heroes of the factions do the same? Maybe they could make small quest chains leading up to you learning other languages⌠As an orc who canonically can speak more than just Orcish this would be amazing!
I will definitely throw my hat in the ring supporting Blizzard help bring back this addon. It was an absolute blessing to those like myself who have long craved an elegant solution to the Cross-Faction RP problem.
Especially given the climate of dissent among the Horde, Now more than ever is the perfect time for cross faction RP.
Blizzard, we need this fine add on authorâs addon restored to functionality!
And to Tammya: Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to your addon! Youâve made a previously horribly tedious process flow so much more smoothly. <3
CrossRP has my support as well. Though I didnât find much opportunity to make use of it, it was a wonderful concept, a wonderful presentation to the World of Warcraft. And itâs an absolute crime that itâs being abused and broken like this.
Here to add my support to this wonderful addon as well! Tammy contributes so much to the RP community and I know Tammy must have put in a lot of time to make this addon. I used the addon myself at the Tournament of Ages RP event and it was a blast!
I was seriously looking forward to using Cross RP on this character and others for RP with my friends who prefer Horde. Really disappointed to see Blizzard make this decision without giving another option for cross faction role play.
Cross faction RP was a sweet concept and opened up a lot of options for an often neglected subset of WoW players.
I personally advocate for Blizzard to completely tear down the faction walls on RP realms to enable a truly immersive experience for their players, but knowing that is highly unlikely, the opt-in nature of the addon was pretty perfect.
Giving my support. This was one of the best addons ever, period. Itâs not even abusable as it turns itself off in all non-rp servers, battlegrounds, or war mode.
It also helps not harassing role players too KACEY
The addon is for communication, not harassing
You can RP with all the horde and alliance people and form all kinds of friends
As someone who has invested so much of my time and life into RP, this addon simplified a complicated process so much. Its not that I couldnât RP with my cross faction friends-- Battlenet has been a thing for awhile-- but this addon made the process as pretty and simple as writing with friends on the same side.
Please, Blizz, bring this addon back to functionality. With battlenet chats, we can still talk cross faction, so nothing was exploitable-- but weâve lost an addon that made it simple and pretty to talk to each other, and RP has been short circuited again, or relegated to whispers and chats instead of in the world itself.
Throwing in my support. CrossRP has led to a lot of amazing cross faction shenanigans for me and my buddies.
I fully support this add on and itâs creator. With guilds like that of the succulent tarts as well as my other character in another faction neutral guild, this add on was immensely useful. It really doesnât make sense to get rid of it when, in the grand scheme of things, it can honestly bring you so much more revenue in the long run.
I remember being a part of Tournament of Ages a couple years back when they had fixed it so that sharding didnât happen for it. Heck, by the end forbes actually wrote an article about how doing that move, making sure that people, rpers in general, it had earned blizzard quite a bit of revenue.
Like many of the others, I really donât know the motives, or if it was intentional or not, but it would be disappointing to see all of this actual amazing rp get destroyed because you just wonât listen to all of these people about it. And one amazing creatorâs voice is ignored.
Even for largescale military guilds like my own, who do almost nothing but fight the Horde, this addon was amazing to add a degree of immersion and interaction between all guilds participating. Iâve also met a few great RPers through this, and had some awesome experiences. It should be fixed ASAP!
Heâs talking about me, obviously.
After the events When Teldrassil burned, a number of RPers gathered in Nighthaven. I had the privilege of attending on my Demon Hunter, who was absolutely horrified by the events.

It was a profound and positive experience. Without experiences like these I likely would no longer be subscribed.
I agree with this 100%. Again, even though I didnât use it in hindsight this addon has the potential to create amazing inter-faction dialogues (as the Horde presently may be dissenting or in the past Ally/Horde coop vs Burning Legion).
Whatâs particularly frustrating is the lack of communication about the nerfing of this functionality or rather, the disabling of it. It seems like Blizzard should have at least communicated it somewhere in developer documentation to make addon creators aware of such changes? Surely this canât be the only addon out there that takes advantage of community functionality.
Giving another bump. We need to make sure Blizzard at least sees this.
I have never used it, although I do own it. This change does not super duper affect me, as I have very little cross-faction roleplay opportunities, but! So many people do. So many people enjoy writing these kinds of interesting narratives, especially during such a diverse and controversial period of this worldâs story. The factions themselves are at war, for seemingly irrelevant reasons. A miracle rock and a giant sword threw them into an arms race and eventual World War. The potential storytelling that could be told from both an Alliance and Horde point of view must not be squandered.
I support this creator, as they have given a chance to so many to make beautiful and masterfully crafted storylines.
