Parsing ruined WOTLK

Nothing but gatekeeping and eliteism.
Parses should not be a thing and slaves to it are the problem. Parsers will run this game into the ground and wonder why is the game a ghost town.

On the other side.
Bad players nowadays just want to get carried and get mad whenever you try to explain to them how to get better.

Also, Classic wotlk is doing fine.

NOOOOOO, I can tell how I’m doing compared to other players doing the same content, THE GAME IS RUINED AND DEAD. STOP PLAYING NOW!!!

Ahhhh, “parsing bad” threads, I knew something was missing from that true classic experience…

Parsing isn’t bad, people who abuse it are bad. And they are few and far between. If you’re encountering them often enough to warrant complaining about them, then chances are you are the problem. You don’t have to be an orange parser to succeed, but if you’re in full Ulduar gear and only pulling 1k dps then yes, you are a problem and need to get good

There would be significantly fewer people playing this game if warcraftlogs or some alternative didn’t exist.

Parsing is honestly a very interesting and powerful tool, I see where you are coming from but overall I’m glad it’s in the game. Also it gives a sort of competitive outlet for PVE guys

copied from my other post…

A-parsing depend on kill time and gear power and will explain in point 1/2/3
B-parsing it’s getting effected much over time, let’s say if you did 15k dps on first week to parse 99%, someone with your same gear doing same dps as you ‘15k’ on same fight after 2months will not even get 50% PARSING

1-let’s say you entered phase3 with a full raid in bis gear of phase2, you’ll have very high parsing compared to people in raid that doesn’t have any gear from ulduar "so gear will give u huge advantage in more % parsing which doesn’t have anything to do with skills and doesn’t prove that you’re better.

2-after p3 starts if you managed to get bis asap you’ll be top of parsing compared to other players from your same class/spec who’s way behind on gear.

3-those guilds doing splits to gear mains faster which means at any week they can get a full raid of bis togc raid roster in best optimized Top tier classes and parse higher in that week than anyone because simply they kill faster compared to others that are crippled by loot and non meta class’s roster.

4-people claim that parsing is not important but Median Avg is…which still have faults as i explained in point 1/2/3, also some people wipe to re-try to get always better parsing.

in the end parsing doesn’t prove skills at all “achievement a kill is better” i mean a gray guild parsing doing imortality is 1000% better/skilled than guilds getting 99%parsing but fails to achieve things(what does that means? if some skilled players joined this game 5months into patch release they will be gray parser as i explained that time after release matters for those numbers but those skilled players can obtain immortality though they doesn’t even have bis from that tier raid meanwhile those 99%parsers who got it in first few weeks because they was always ahead on gear fail to obtain immortality because they suck and that’s why i said my example) very important note! when it come to real skill which is achieving a kill by fast learn/fast adapt/ fast reaction in situation you’re not familiar with and doing something you never done before that’s the real deal skill which can’t even apply to classic where those boss’s got killed million times and top classic guilds are already and have been killing those boss’s on P.servers for months of practice before the official release in classic.

-additional point about kill time!
when it comes to parsing and encounter’s time there are a lot of things to mention which matters but i’ll just highlight 2things.
-1st the highest dps you do is during the hero/BL and the Raid got only 30sec of heroism/bloodlust which means any more seconds over all the encounter takes will give over all less dps.
-2nd most if not all trinkets proc at start and every 45~50sec…a boss kill at min 2:10sec will lead to more dps than a boss kill at 2:50sec Unless you extend the kill for 3:10 but then still less dps than 2:10
for certain encounters…kill time matters the most, take anub kill time for example, if your raid can avoid the Anub’arak burrows phase that will not make you as a player waste 65sec doing nothing or attacking scrubs which doesn’t even count toward parsing since dmg is normalized and so if your raid stack meta classes to be able to 1phase anub you’ll gets very high parsing for that boss and in same time that will screw it for anyone who’s not 1phasing anub

Parsing is great. It’s a good tool you can use to continually improve your performance.

As someone who tends to gray parse, I think parsing is fine.

Wotlk ruined wotlk. It was always a mid expansion

What is the fun of dpsing if you’re not tracking your performance? I can understand it can be toxic sometimes but just embrace it and try to improve your play.

I think parsing is great but only for my own personal improvement

I was called out for not topping the charts with my old guild.

Holy Paladin.

Asked RL if anyone died? No deaths, I said topping the charts on healing is absurd. Maybe im old school and just wanted to keep people alive without staring at my Details window during the fight

Needless to say I was benched for the RL wife. Who was worried about charts so much, she was standing in crap trying to throw out heals.
I tried to use my Classic toon to post this, but I can’t for some reason

how do you parse on a noob

Feel free to join our guild, we are casual af

Instead of viewing it negatively, look at it for improving your performance. You’ll thank yourself later.
