Parses/raider IO/sims are whats killing wow

Parsing can be inaccurate, UH DK’s early on using necrolord set 100 str bonus & frenzied monstrosity leggo on pre pull, then swapping to raid gear last second gave DK’s a few percent more damage.

Raider.io is fine though, for example you don’t want some PVP player with 220 gear just stepping into PVE as your tank, hes gonna waste your key.

You don’t understand how io works

I haven’t simmed in like 2 months, ilvl is so important that it’s hardly worth a second glance.
btw logs measure your performance against players of similar ilvl so if you’re gray there’s no excuses, you’re doing something very wrong.

I don’t use a damage meter. Boss fall over, group did good, we win.

You know what also feels good sometimes? Carrying an undergeared or novice player.

Literally took me 4 months to find a guild on my server that wanted a tank for mythic + stuff and even then I’m like the 16th alt lol

Optimization is only part of it. The biggest and foremost thing is performance. Your character could be optimized and you still get grey parses because you aren’t playing correctly.

It sounds like you don’t care how you perform either.

My man, just take an hour to find your rotation and practice it on dummies. Practice it before every raid so you get it figured out.

If you want to do the content with the people you want to play with, you gotta nix the negative attitude and just figure out how to play. There is such a thing as holding a group back due to low damage.

maybe a few times, though i suspect the majority of times i get declined is cause i’m a shadow priest and the only thing we bring to the group is some good damage and there’s several dps signing up for the groups

never

never

are you sure you did everything right? because if you did everything right then you’d have good dps. your stats for an assassination rogue are barely prioritized, you have pvp trinkets and you have the 4th best legendary possible for ASN rogues.

so basically you went into a raid without looking at your spec and seeing if you could improve, did low dps and got kicked.

I don’t know, because I don’t get a reason when I get declined.

Which happens a lot since I am playing a DPS and there’s lots of us out there.

Just so we are clear all of this stuff is based in fact. It’s the community that uses it improperly.
So if anything it’s the community killing this game, not the stats.

Honestly I get declined more for item level than anything else. Which sucks because loot is awful to get in M+. People always want a carry so as DPS its just w/e has the highest IL and they don’t look at anything else. Your IO scores don’t matter until you’re pushing like 10+ or Heroic raiding.

Edit: If you’re DPS is awful though in a heroic raiding guild. You kinda deserve to get kicked after they point it out and you’re still playing awful. No reason to hold everybody back because you don’t know how to hit 12345 over and over again in the same order.

I wouldn’t say it’s a ‘WoW’ thing. Nowadays people being too meta focused and sweaty seems to the norm in every game. This annoying perfectionist behavior is a plague everywhere

Raider IO isnt actually the problem, in fact it’s a good thing but i can agree it’s being misused by extreme toxicity. Dungeons in this expac are far, far easier than BFA ever was so im against people being overly egotistical and perfectionist over content, most people can do if they have decent io as opposed to only the 1% being picked.

Then again, it’s not a ‘Raider IO’ issue, its a larger problem in today’s gaming mentality. You will see this mentality everywhere.

That being said, just make your own groups. Get a key and you’re set and done. You’ll see why raider io is important at higher keys, but don’t be an elitist jerk. Give everyone a chance, you’ll mostly do fine and get dungeons going quick.

The fact is I saw this coming and didn’t buy the expansion. So I guess the answer is “never”.

That’s not how io work, unless one of those two forgot to update.

Never, and my guild have people who are willing to help other to improve.

A lot, because I enjoy hitting thing harder?

Because they help you improve and/or find players that can help you achieve your objective.

You are holding your teammates back, no if, ands, or buts. A grey parse means you are performing below the vast majority of other players with your spec, that’s not just “didn’t fully optimize”, that’s you not putting an ounce of effort. Bosses become easier with more dps, and with your parse, you just made life that much harder for your raid.

Every class is viable, especially for low keys. And fury warrior is actually fairly good for keys.

Because…you can’t kick people in M+?

Like I’ve said, you with your gray parse made the fight significantly more difficult for your group. And you pretend that you are the only one doing mechanics, on most of the fights, your group won’t survive if only one person did mechanics.

Have you considered that what you consider as “fun” is not the same for others? Wiping on fights you have on farm isn’t fun, being forced to do one more iteration of boss mechanics isn’t fun, dying 60 times in a keys isn’t fun.

Yeah, I don’t really get the hate for “In ideal circumstances, you can hit x DPS in this gear”. That’s the only thing sims can really tell you; whether you can tighten up your gameplay, and whether a piece of gear is an on-paper upgrade/downgrade. You still have to apply that information (which is where the playerbase struggles) and weigh it against outside factors like utility and mechanics. The Mists Ocarina might be a DPS loss for simming, but it could be a huge increase for the party as a whole, as an immediate example.

But “Me hitting #1 on the damage meters is the most important thing on the planet” isn’t new, and it’s still just as useless of a viewpoint as it’s always been, from Vanilla on.

Hey it’s the person that lied about being the bestestest at mechanics on Heroic Stone Legion Generals while his raid didn’t do any mechanics, and then it turned out they were only doing 1800, 700 dps less than a tank.

Unknown.
Never.
Never.

What that means is your dps was comparable to the bottom 25% of people playing your class and spec.

I mean, you were doing less dps than a tank. That’s not, not optimizing your character. That’s just being bad.

Yes.

Turns out, it’s not really a toxic environment. If you don’t try to do content you aren’t ready for, and make attempts to improve yourself, most people are perfectly supportive. Bad apples do exist. But bad apples exist in every bunch.

Maybe for you, but when the person you’re carrying is doing less dps than a tank and you’re about to start on the hardest boss in the raid, having to carry that much isn’t exactly thrilling.

Yes, this is the individual who created that thread. I was scrolling through specifically hoping someone saw that thread before.

You are not entitled to enter other people’s groups. If they require a certain proof of competence, that is their condition to enter.

Hey OP, here’s one more site you can rage about for exposing how bad you are.

https://www.wipefest.gg/character/Zombie/Bleeding-Hollow/US

What’s even funnier is pulling up your SLG logs where yesterday you were going off about how great at mechanics you were and seeing you score 32.

Well OP, parsing is officially banned in FF14 if you want to be away from it. People still do it and logging is very common. In fact, the log site for FF14 is run by the same person. However, if someone ever says anything about it in game, you can technically report them for it. It’s unlikely anything will happen unless it specifically contributes to harassment, but you can submit the report.
