Has anyone looted him yet off the Bee Events happening in Stormsong Valley. And if so what what wave did you get too if you remember.
It doesnāt appear that anyone has collected Papi yet, based on zero data from The Undermine Journal, as well as zero data from WarcraftPets API.
Iām thinking itās NYI or thereās an error with its droprate. Everyone should submit a bug report IMO and ask that they double check it to make sure itās not bugged.
Edit: Or thereās a secret method to acquiring it involving being Exalted, buying the Butterfly Net, and using it near the butterflies during a Harvester Event? (this is based off of comments/speculation, no idea if this is the case)
Now that might be whats up thenā¦seeing that net cost 25 Royals to buyā¦another thing I seen on wowhead is it might be a weekly thingā¦like right now I got 3 of the Suns so farā¦maybe come Tuesday reset Papi might be in instead of the sun oneā¦
Edit, According too Wowhead Papi comes from the dropped Live Honey after the event is done ā¦so how would using the net get him?..I just thought of that now.
Edit-Its been stated that Horde can do and have seen them do the Bee Events around the Valley and that they can get Butterflies from Event and doing Honey Smasher so that would excluded the Butter Fly Net as they canāt collect Jelly to buy it unless they do it on Alliance sideā¦all though Battle Pets are account bound.
For what itās worth, today while everyone was waiting for the next event to spawn someone said theyād talked to a GM about Papi. The GM said that theyāre watching Papi closely, as far as they know itās not bugged itās just that people havenāt figured everything out yet.
It might have something to do with the net. It seems strange itās not marked as a toy item. Using it can make you spin and get dizzy but thereās also a chance to get a buff that says youāll attract bees and butterflies. But as mentioned above itās not something horde can get and supposedly all three pets were available to both factions.
It has to be something that both Alliance and Horde can do that is why I rule out the Net cause horde canāt buy it.

Everyone seems to keep forgetting, just because horde can not use the net, doesnāt mean they canāt buy Papi on the AH - which means the net āCOULDā be part of it, just no way of knowing yet. Might be catching Papi has to have something to do with ādevilās islandā referenceā¦

I thought the āDevilās Islandā might have something to do with it as well. Tried using the net on multiple islands in BFA zones, plus Alcaz Island off the shore of Theramore. Nothing. (Tried using the net in Pandaria too.)
The problem with the āDevilās Islandā theory is that Papiās tooltip in the Pet Journal specifically says Zone: Stormsong Valley, and there are only so many islands there. It also states that itās a drop from a Fresh Jelly Deposit. So unless thereās a hidden ābee eventā somewhere on an obscure island in Stormsong, āDevilās Islandā doesnāt really make sense.
And yes, the Pet Journal tooltip has been wrong before. But that just goes back to the possibility of SOMETHING about this pet being bugged, whether itās the droprate or whatās written in its tooltip.
Anyway, Iām taking what the CM said about Papi not being bugged with a grain of salt. Not ruling out that there might be more to obtaining this pet, but CMs have also been wrong/misinformed before soā¦ shrug

Devilās Island is indeed a prison. I havenāt had any luck yeah, but there are multiple prison islands.
Tol Barad, Tol Dagor, and those listed above.
Fateās End is also a prison like island where criminals are sent and I believe it is part of Stormsong. I think when I went there, I left Stormsong while crossing the Ocean, but then rejoined the chat. I need to make sure I am 100% on that.
I checked out Fateās End islandā¦yes you are connected too Stormsong Valley chat while on itā¦the only thing I found there was a Green NPC if you talk to them you are returned too Stormsong Valley on the beach near were one Bee Event can happenā¦which is near the Turtle dudes daily ā¦Help Loa. I did this on this toonā¦has any Horde based toon gone out too Fateās End island yet and can be returned too Valley via that one NPC?
I just flew out to Fateās End Island on a horde toon and didnāt even run into fatigue zone. I did find a cave and a ghost to talk to.
Iād say check Secret Finding but they are busy busy with Jenafur still.
I went out to Fateās End yesterday, and even tried to use my net to get the buff, bee-dutiful trails, to see if did anything. All I did was bumble, but later flew out with the buff on, to no effect. My original thought was that what if perhaps an event spawns on the island that we donāt see because we donāt camp the area. Most of us donāt even go outside the mainland, so who knows if there is an event along the outskirts somewhere. Itās just an ideaā¦ as I am running out of them.
Also, someone posted on warcraftpets that they got to wave 30 with no Papi dropping.
There probably is some sort of secret hidden in Stormsong that we have to solve in order to get Papi to drop from the Jelly.
Someone with a net try using it near the bees and butterflies at 46 31 where there is at least a purple butterfly and some windy looking stone thing. Maybe he spawns as a battle pet to cage then? just a thought but no net to test
So are we just assuming that most of the information in the official announcement is garbage?

Tried doing it there thinking the wind was related to one of Papiās abilities. Got the buff and debuff at random times, nothing consistent. 30m CD on a non-toy, even if it was a toy, makes it tough to test.

- didnāt have the net buff, and itās unknown if anyone else that took part used the butterfly net
Right now this leads me to believe it was just bugged and now itās fixed. Thereās not enough information to tell if someone else did something to change the event/loot table.
Anyway, hopefully more people will start seeing it drop.

Was just in a group, 2 people got it.
We hit wave 20 and killed the add. The Yeti died on wave 15. I used the butterfly net earlier but the buff did drop of before I arrived at the event.
Other than that, I think it is just now starting to drop but I dont know why.
Going to have to agree. Think they sneak-fixed it, just like they sneak-moved Frenzied Knifefang.

Something was definitely off with the drops. They had to have fixed it. Got mine in which wave 14 was completed and wave 15 sizzled out. I know that not everyone has the net or has the goggles, but i had goggles on, bumbles out and I was able to get the Bee-utiful buff during the event.
