These items that scale with gear +healing and +spell power are getting ridiculous. In classic it was Diamond Flask and now it is Paladins with items that heal except much worse. Diamond flask healing sets were pretty ridiculous in classic, but at least they only lasted 1 minute on a 10 minute cooldown. How is it balanced that an item for a Paladin can have infinite scaling with +healing and +spell power on gear to heal for 700+ with level 60 gear?
Lots of items like this were shown to be working in a similar fashion in Vanilla WoW, but they were not scaling in Classic. Why? Because they would have been completely broken that is why. Yet now in TBC where there will be even more spell power and healing on gear it is allowed to be in effect. The Runeblade of Baron Rivendare is one example - it was changed to not scale FOR A GOOD REASON. Lifestealing enchant didn’t scale with spell power or +healing for a good reason. These items in TBC like Skullflame Shield and whatnot should be changed for the same good reason.
Diamond Flask should have been changed in Classic and this Paladin heal scaling should be changed as well. It’s completely overpowered when it is used in conjunction with spell power and +healing gear and just the handful of videos that I have seen show that it is indeed completely broken. Imagine pvping a Paladin where every other time you hit him he heals for 700 lol. Get real
As with everyone on this forum, I’m going to defend this heavily abusive behavior because it’s what I’ll be doing in TBC. I clearly don’t have a conflict of interest. Paladins autohealing themselves while pulling 1000 mobs is obviously balanced.
I have some ideas to expand the abuse far beyond what people are showing in videos. I was excited for Classic, but TBC is what I was really waiting for. The hype is extremely real.
Aside from the Naxx trash solo in vanilla, TBC is when I first really got into stuff like this, when I learned how to solo farm the chess event in Kara. Since then, I’ve utilized every scummy trick in this game, and I will in TBC Classic as long as they’re available.
Presumably Skull Flame Shield and Demon Forged Breastplate, both of which had their procs nerfed to no longer scale with 100% SP. It still won’t stop Paladins from being AoE farming monsters with Petrified Lichen Guard, 2pc Righteous, Libram of the Eternal Rest, and buttloads of Block%, Block Rating, and Spell Power.
