Skimpy armor doesnât need to make a comeback because it never really went away; the past three expansions have had plenty of it, and if SL has less then itâs probably because it doesnât fit as well with the theme of the expansion.
Also, you can like having the option to customize your own character to be a bit sexy and also think that itâs actually a good thing if the developers donât participate in sexualizing women by including random erotic artwork (especially when no similar artwork of men exists in the game)

Please explain to me how blurry paintings you had to go out of your way to see at all were important. I mean if this was a removal of skimpy armor or something Iâd be with you, but this is such a non issue itâs frightening, both the outcry and that the company thought it mattered either way.
And as we all know, a painting that appears half-a-dozen times in a video game is of utmost importance.
Which is why Blizzard changing them is anything but silly, same goes for the people getting up-in-arms over it.
localized censorship by blizzard (undead models - china) and other mmos (TERA - Elin in West) is something that should not be tolerated. this is yet another step closer to things we care about.
Its censorship. It not about the paintings it is censoring the game. Where do you draw the line?
/flirt sexual? lets get rid of it.
/hug sexual? lets get rid or it.
Skimpy transmogs sexual? lets get rid of it.
But I agree removing two paintings you have to make a special stop isnât worth blizzardâs resources. They can fix gear they can fix M+ they can fix other more serious issues.
No body gives a rats foot about 2 stupid paintings 99.9999999% of people donât see.
Yet they cater to the woke extremists and hunt for things to censor its not about the paintings if you stop and think about it.
When theyâre done hanging new paintings, maybe they can work on letting us spec pets again.

I disagree that itâs meaningful censorship, though it is tone deaf and a waste of resources, that much we can agree on. Whatâs making me mad isnât that people arenât happy with the change, itâs that they care at all. Because itâs not a change to care about one way or the other. It was pointless for the company to do it, it means nothing to the game at large. People need to calm down until something actual happens.
Side: I happen to like chinese undead and couldnât wait to get that model, though I ultimately deleted mine, even if I like them better without bones I still donât really like them. It might have been censorship in china but here itâs an extra option, and one some people genuinely prefer and not for any puritanical reason. For me itâs that the exposed bones never looked anatomically accurate, Iâm a stickler like that.

No no, you see, Blizzard canât just change slutmogs at a momentâs notice*, the way it really works is that they have to complete wokeness quests and gain censorship levels**, and then once they hit 60 theyâll have so much censor power that nobody will be able to stop them, like that guy in the South Park episode***

Itâs not about the paintings, as you said, the paintings are unimportant. Thus, Blizzard taking the time to âFixâ unimportant paintings because they were deemed âInappropriateâ sets a precedent where puritan values are held in the highest esteem.
i never pay attention to them like many others probably donât pointless but they better make me a blueberry if they change my gender.
Iâm not sure Iâd go as far as all that. It was a pointless change of course. It was probably a committee decision or something. I donât see this as being connected to puritanism, though both the left and right can get puritanical, which is weird, I think itâs all part of the control tactic.
I just canât get worked up over something that I looked at once for a few seconds 14 years ago. If they change something important it will be a different story. I guess I should have predicted it could come to this, other games have been dealing with accusatory cancellations over things every bit as dumb, last year I wondered when all this essentially anti-fantasy rhetoric would trickle down to wow and it seems it may have arrived.
There was a line of thought that the LotR movies were uninclusive because all the protagonists were âprettyâ while the antagonists were âugly.â There are still people like that out there who think stock fantasy tropes hold up beauty over character, racism, sexism, you name it they have a problem. They are the reason you canât say HP Lovecraft without some nitwit shouting âWAS A RACIST!â from the back row. Even though in the manâs own writing he says he was stupid for feeling that way when he was younger. Fake news over facts, I guess thatâs the world we live in now.
