And I’d better be a Lemon or a Kiwi for this Character.
Sir, this is the World of Warcraft, not a World Heritage Site. Don’t lose sight of the narrative here, it’s an inconsequential change to a video game not the destruction of the last remnants of a dead culture. Even if they changed all the skimp mogs to robes or all the models to those genderless art dolls, it would still not be remotely comparable.
I’ll even agree the removal was stupid but I don’t follow making comparisons with the damned taliban. It’s hyperbolic in the extreme.
Picture of a duck would be cute
Duck flambe with a bottle of wine even better.
Hercules on a pegasus holding a sword picture too.
Hey both were erased to further both parties narrative . The only difference is the Taliban were at least honest with themselves and the world why they did it.
But you’re making so much of so little.
Those buddhas were unique cultural artifacts. Thousands of years old. If you can’t see how their destruction and the removal of a handful of pointless dreck from a video game are not the same thing, well frankly I’m surprised.
The paintings were either superfluous outdated trash someone felt was easy pickings (likely) or said art was created by a bad actor and was removed for that reason (better).
That’s not the same as blowing up ancient civilizations’ priceless statues. I see how you’re trying to tie them together but I feel that’s like taking something that happened on D&D night and applying it to a discussion of Realpolitik. It doesn’t work, and makes you look out of touch with reality a bit.
Sorry but that’s my take on it, maybe I’m wrong but it seems we should reserve outrage like this for when someone comes for our actual proverbial buddha statues, not tiny useless snippets of our video games.
Blizzard: “we did it, we solved sexism!”
proceeds to run over employees
I believe because of everything that has past they are tying to show they are changing. Well Blizzard you failed . It is like they are saying it is because of what they are wearing they cannot be there . In my opinion that is like putting the blame on women. To be honest I am busy playing the game ( which is why I bought it in the first place) to notice that much about the paintings. If men can’t control themselves around women wearing whatever they want then they need to find somewhere else to go. I will now step down off my soapbox .
No it’s not, you don’t speak for us.
