They actually have some amazing new realm linking planned for ERA so we will all be on the same super realm living together in perfect pve and pvp harmony and low latency (including oce) thus rendering all paid transfers meaningless.
They weren’t being the evil wow-police taking our shiny things off us, they were actually being nice all along!
Popular doesn’t necessarily mean good for the game. Players will put themselves through hell if it’s the most efficient way to play. But in the long-term it’s better for the devs to focus on FUN. When people aren’t having fun, they just quit. No matter how much gear is thrown at them. And alienating the masses with a terrible system is not good design. Right now there’s nothing for casual players at endgame. The same thing happened to Retail as Blizz become obsessed with e-sport design.

The realms ARE NOT linked. Nobody ever believed the ‘money trap’ bollocks. Cataclysm transfers continue as normal and $140 store mounts? We’re not stupid.
cmon blizzard restore the paid transfers so we can transfer to or back to where we want to go.

It really feels like they want Era servers to die off. Preventing people from transferring to play with friends is certainly a way to accomplish that goal.
Imagine running a company and turning off an automated service that people pay for, and are actively asking to be turned back on. Just amazing how many ways you guys find to either ruin games, make your customer base angry, or make stupid decisions as a company.
I’m hoping to go the other way. I have a toon on Heartseeker that I’d like to transfer to Mankrik.
Blizzard, Microsoft, it’s Christmas. We’re asking you to turn on the paid transfer service in Classic Era. Imagine giving us a gift that makes you money.
Can we get a Christmas miracle please? Restore the Paid Transfer Service to Era! We have a handful of your customers ready and eager to hand over their hard earned dollars in exchange for the Paid Transfer Service, so that they can bring their time-invested characters to the realm of their choosing.
This is Era, a four year old game type, after all. You’d think building bridges for communities, not tearing them down, would be a no brainer. Heck I don’t even need you to build bridges. Just don’t tear down the years old bridges the players utilize! We don’t mind the toll. Certainly it isn’t a money trap to those of us posting here.
If your goal is to respect the players time, closing the Paid Transfer Service is not the way to show us that.

Still holding out hope that blizzard will see the light, relent and restore the paid transfer service.
What has been touching over the past few weeks has been the offers of help from friends on Mankrik. Power levelling a new 60, gearing, even a couple of offers of full accounts to use to play there.
What a shame that it’s left up to the players to try and turn this shambles around. Thanks to those who have offered, but no thanks. I have such a strong attachment to my 60 druid i couldn’t make another or play another. It just wouldn’t be right.
I transferred from a dead OCE realm to Mankrik and found an amazing community there. I transferred to whitemane when work hours got in the way for a few months, always with the intention of transferring back.
As another account is about to unsubscribe I topped up 3k+ shards on my Mankrik summoners in the hope that I’ll be back there soon.

Yeah this is actually really weird , they’re just refusing free money … I guess it kind of goes to show that there’s not a lot of thought and logic put into the decision making on their end which kind of makes them unpredictable as a company and as developers in this really odd way , or maybe they themselves just don’t understand how the classic era server clusters and the transfers work …? I don’t know I’ve never seen a company refuse free money like this
2024: I have fractured my pelvic bone, bruised my coccyx, had my house flooded twice, rebuilt restored my comp twice, have had to replace every piece of pipe in my house, spent more time at work than i did at home. Have paid for my sub the whole time though i have basically not played since March. I thought that was bad.
Then I come back excited for the new year and renewed game time, to this?! You help the bot/farmers, and screw the loyal players by removing the PCM’s? Blizzard you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Grobbulus is still my home regardless of the shambles my time there was this past year, or your moves to cull it. it belongs to the few who never left, this is my server, and I aint leaving.
Blizz: how about turn the era shop back on today? Please and thank you.
