Paid boosts are necessary

Paid boosts will help bring players back that are on the fence.

Paid boosts are not necessary. If people were on the fence to come back (presumably because they are not willing to level 1-58), they will most likely not stick around to grind all the reps/dungeons in TBC.

Besides, those mythical players who want to join their friends can already hop in right now and level - they should be ready in time for TBC.

You are wrong. People do not want to be so far behind

That’s my point though, they could start today and reach to 58 well before TBC launches!

Target audience is people dont want to do classic, which is why the boost is being put in.

Why is this so hard to grasp?

Blizz puts a boost in for people who didn’t want to play classic so they can skip classic leveling and start with TBC.

You suggest to start leveling now in the content they didn’t want to do and they skipped.

What’s next then? People who do not want to do attunements so Blizzard has a purchasable attunement skipper for $30?

People who don’t want to put in work for raids buying raid drops at $10 each?

Classic (Vanilla) content was a part of TBC. There was never an option to skip all that with $$$. Blizzard is just showing its greed, but luckily their true fans are there to watch the multi-billion dollars back! Thank Green Jesus!

Which is a terrible grind and big waste of time if they can instead get the 58 boost. Not to mention that now it takes 30% more exp to get to 58 opposed to during TBC.

They could burn 2-3 weeks of thier free time grinding a classic character to 58 or get one instantly with TBC boost. Hmm, hard decisions.

the “true” fans are those of us with most anniversary achievements posting on retail max level toons. yall fair weather fans, at best.

You again with the achievement e-peen contest?
So you are actually saying that because you have the most anniversary achievement points, your point of view is more valid? Surely you have got to be trolling, but I’ll bite.

Your earliest anniversary achievement is WoW’s 5th Anniversary, which was added in Wotlk. You have none of the TBC raid titles. By your reasoning, you have no word in what should be added to TBC Classic.

i’ve already explained that why that is. account got nuked while i was unsubbed during tbc and i made a new account in wrath. i can PROVE just using this account that i’ve played and paid for over 10 years. you don’t have to believe anything before that. you’re level 25 in classic. no achievements i can see at all. you could also say your first account got nuked but we’re be at an impasse. the difference is i’m posting on a toon that shows i’m actually a “vet” even if you pretend my other account didn’t exist and you are posting on a non max level classic shaman. just sayin’.

I haven’t been following your posts so when you say “I’ve already explained why that is” that’s meaningless to me. But sure, you played TBC. It was “nuked” while you were unsubbed. Sure. That happens.

Thanks for reminding me why I never bother to post on the forums.
I’m on the EU server Mr Tauren Monk, look at my profile and weep.

4th anniversary, Competitor/Argent Dawn Tabards, and a title that you will never be able to have because your account got “nuked” (LOL); Champion of the Naaru.

I’m done trying to convince people that adding a boost is going to trigger the downfall of TBC Classic. If you have experienced the growth of wow and are truly a “vet” like you claim, surely you must know that all these monetization additions are what led the Retail to become what it is today.

We have fought tooth and nail to bring the Classic experience back to the WoW community. And we were ridiculed for it. “Lol it will never happen” they said, but Blizzard eventually made it happen. Some people may have had selfish reasons to bring Vanilla back, but I’d wager that the majority simply wanted people to experience what they did. Of course after 15 years the experience wasn’t 1:1 (It never could have been), but it was pretty damn close.

Now Blizzard is about to ruin the Classic spirit with the addition of Boosts to TBC, and the same people who helped bring Classic back are now raising their voice, yet we are ridiculed once again. I am done trying to help the community. Have it your way.

i could link some random EU account too and post on a lowbie classic toon and lie, but that doesn’t prove anything. you aren’t posting from the toon and claiming ownership of your lowbie. the fact someone in EU has those things is obviously possible. the way you’re trying to make me take it at face value? nah. you leveled beyond 10 and even getting to 25 shows a decent time investment to this character but you stopped leveling at some point. if it was just a forum alt cuz you’re actually an EU player it would be at level 10. like every other EU forum alt that has ever been in the forums. i don’t weep at all. i  at you trying to flex on an account that you can’t actually prove is yours.

Here is me proving I have a lowbie classic character. Showing ive played both. And that I know how long it takes to get to 25 as a shaman, specifically.

You cannot post on the US forums with an EU account.

Dear Blizzard, please do not add level boosts to the game.

Good enough for you?

yes. then we can just agree to disagree. i have no issues with people who actually played as long as i have wanting speciific things, obviously. my issue is with obvious private server players who hide behind trash throwaway lowbie non classic main toons and then say stupid things.

edit: they ruined classic for all of us. and most people who actually wanted to enjoy classic and eventually tbc classic don’t care what they want, you know?

Some people can’t possibly comprehend that classic vanilla just wasn’t that good, especially with the toxicity it contained.

it was good at the time. compared to say… MoP or legion? it was objectively trash. (the two most loved recent retail expansions, obv) some people enjoy hitting themselves in the junk. a lot of the classic forums is essentially saying if you don’t also enjoy hitting yourself in the junk that you are some noob retail casual who supports RMT and should jump off a roof. which is irrational obv. lol

At the time vanilla was amazing. It was also my first actual mmo. (I played RuneScape but ehhhhh… loose fit.) so rose tinted glasses and whatnot. Classic vanilla ended up being an abomination.

vanilla was amazing. classic was good until a certain point and then everyone all left at the same time and the ones who were left were allowed to just do whatever they wanted without repercussions or intervention from blizz. that was less fun. lol
