There’s no legal grounding on which Blizzard could issue any sort of cease and desist letter. The UI policy are guidelines only and do not constitute anything enforceable in a court of law. I’ve already addressed the TOS myth.

Wowinterface has MMO minion but here’s the thing.

The addon authors of the addons you want updated by it has to upload their new version to wowinterface. If they don’t update wowinterface it isn’t going to keep your addons up to date.

I would never even consider wasting time updating manually. I’ve always used an addon manager and always will. The CurseForge app works just fine for me but if people don’t want to use it that’s their choice.

I’ve been trying the CurseForge app, and I don’t find it that bad. I haven’t seen any intrusive ads or anything.

I keep having the Lua Warning with AddOns and it’s annoying. I don’t know if it’s twitch because I see others that have the same AddOns as me and they do not even get the same amount of messages as I do. Literally anything I clicked on was a warning. Had to disable the addon.

I’ve heard all the negative things about Overwolf but I decided to try it for myself. So far it’s working fine. It’s still in beta so not everything is implemented yet. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now but If I find out about any sketchy behavior or get any in-game ads I’ll uninstall it immediately and look to another solution.

There hasn’t been any reported issues with this since their troubles with LoL. How short our memories most be to forget that many commonly used WoW resource sites had their own issues with bad actors in their “ads”.
