Overwolf Client and Addon Management - PLEASE Don't Support This!

One of the big reasons i switched to bigwigs

After a major patch most of them do for a couple days.

Boss mods may need daily/semi-daily updates for a couple of weeks until all the timers are right.

cool thing about wowup is it pulls from wowinterface and github also. So if they pulled this bs use us or else guess what wowinterface it is :stuck_out_tongue:

Its not that tedious if you know the file location. I have several addons i use for various things (and trying out new ones frequently). I always manually install or delete the add ons.

now if i haave to get those add ons via the client, instead of just downloading straight from the site, that i have severe issues with. I don’t like extra unnecsary things on my computer. force of habit after running things on a potato for years. and the new comp is not a race horse. its more of a gentle galloper, but its better the the lame three legged horse i was using before.

i will say, this does sound shady, though.

Wait till prepatch comes  It’ll be worse than in the past because Blizz made a change to backdrops so best case scenario your addon is transparent and doesn’t have a background, worst case is it blows up and won’t run at all. Gonna suck for all those people using addons from 1943 that “still work”.

For me it’s easier to just run without addons for a couple weeks till the dust settles, lol.

I don’t know how anyone can play this game without Bartender4.

I couldn’t play wow for 2 seconds without elvui  Luckily though elvui will work for prepatch.

wowinterface sucks unfortunately, i looked up my addons and most are either not updated or don’t even exist on there.

I prefer to have bartender, but I can make due without it. In fact if I didn’t accidentally nuke my custom mono-UI-addon that did bar positioning and such with my last OS reinstall I’d still be using that instead of bartender.

Never could get on board with elvui. It’s such a beast.

most of my addons already have 9.0 versions lol.

I hate how it makes everything look like it was drawn in crayons.

That bit can be turned off, but even without the appearance part it’s still a monster of an addon.

I like it because without it i’d need like 40 other addons lol.

Yeah but it makes what is supposed to be a fantasy game look like I’m running Office 365 in terms of UI design (that stupid flat look to UI controls). I love the sort of rough textured look on Blizzard’s UI.

Rather just run Bartender4 + Plater has my only UI mods honestly. Weakauras do the rest for notifications and tracking.

WowInterface is great for niche addons and addon tools for developers like

for converting PNG files from the internet to BLP (wow format)

It is, I like addons with 442,000 settings for me to fiddle with  If you don’t and would still like to use Elvui then there are graphical suites you can install alongside elvui to setup everything you want. One my friend uses is Merathilis

You can find more here https://www.tukui.org/addons.php?cat=28

or just copypaste someones setup from https://wago.io/elvui

See, this is the look I hate. Turns WoW’s UI into a new fangled google app look alike.

It’s not for everyone, but that’s why we have so many options :stuck_out_tongue:

I also change my ui a lot, and it’s nice to just be able to have only a couple of profiles to change (i also use plater over elvui nameplates)

Under the “Skins” option… deselect “Blizzard”. Now everything is back to blizzard style, minus ElvUI itself.

It has no use to me if I can’t get all my addons from their unfortunately.

For example, Plater is a very popular nameplate addon (over 4 million downloads), it’s still in the 8.2.5 version on wowinterface.
