I understand a reasonable attachment to a character name or wanting a cool server name, really I do. But being willing to endure hours long queues because of a server name or not getting your prefered character name? That seems like a you problem not a Blizz problem.
You chose Harod, Blizzard gave several warnings about population then launched a new server now either choose to stay and deal with the queues or move and chance losing your name. You can wait till launch and when they add the next server jump on it for your names like people did for Stalagg and have done for every launch in the past. Did you not see the announcement of stalagg I have a feeling if they had announced a 24 or 48 hour delay in opening stalagg it would not have changed anything some people would not get their names regardless of lead time notice. Either from competition for the name or no ability to log in at the time it was opened. so regardless if it was opened immediately, after 2 hours, or after 48 hours not everyone would be happy.
I think Blizzard was trying to do a good thing for the community and allow pre-launch name reservations. I was already subbed I didnât pay a dime for my names. and you did not pay for a name reservation spot you paid for game time which you CHOSE not to use. you could have used it for playing retail which is another you problem.
You so realize itâs still âEasternâ??? What kind of response is that lmfao idgaf where the server is based I want a server time that works off of my time.
Gonna disagree with you there. My friends and I arent switching off Herod for the sole reason that we had no idea there was even going to be a new server till like the next day. They should have announced it with time to plan with guilds and friends. Would have been happy to switch off my server.
Population on realms in retail mean absolutely nothing due to CRZ, LFR, and the Dungeon Finder queue. ALL realms are second class when everyone is intermixed. Server identity in retail is gone and has been for a very long time. The majority of your statements only apply to vanilla era servers.
Why? What reason could anyone possibly get that impression about a server in retail when you rarely EVER see or interact with someone on the same server anymore due to the factors I mentioned above?? This is the biggest reason why there are so many who are opposed to layering as it effectively splinters the playerbase. Server community is vitally important to WoW Classic in order to maintain player retention.
LOL Blizzard never designated a STREAMER FREE server as you suggest, it was the community after SOME big streamers announced that they going Faerlina, so NO real solution there budy
it also creates more questions,
what will i have for dinner?
should i not play on herod at all?
if everyone decides to not play on herod at all and moves to this new realm then what will they do?
Is this just a meme at this point? Does no one still complaining about this know that EST servers are based out of Chicago? The ONLY thing EST about them is the server clock time⌠Your latency to the EST servers will be better than actual East Coasters if you are located within the Central timezone.
the number 50 comes from another post i read that stated there were 50 original Vanilla servers. âno changesâ could have been interpreted as bringing back each and every name. the player base has grown a lot since then. all of those could be sustainable for a launch but how many retail players are going to stick to classic.
The number of servers is not based on how many people are going to play classic. the cautious adding of servers is probably based on how many retail players they expect to stick to classic by phase 2 and on words.
What percent of all the name reservations are Tourists?
personally that is where i was going to go as several months ago, however i have two guilds that are planning on doing all the content in classic so as a platform for better community interaction and different game play makes it more likely a long term investment.
based on the stress test, I found the leveling experience and the community interaction 1000% better than live. As such, While classic wont be a walk in the park like it is on live, a lot more players than Bliz would have expected will end up staying. Of course that does not mean retail players who end up enjoying classic and stay will drop retail. its the same sub.
Here is a great idea. Instead of having a server being overcrowded at MEDIUM. Have them say Full!!! So people donât join a server thinking itâs fine then asking them to change.
This is correct. It may only pull a bit off Herod but its the most youâll get pre release.
Other options is to just allow people to super layer on herod for the 1st week but let them know a queue is coming for the 2nd and free account transfers will be open to a server that is locked to creation (for like 2-3 days). So when people see the 10-20k queue they can be like lets move.
True about wanting to be on the big server but Blizz really did make this much worse by having just a single eastern pvp server that didnât have a reason not to roll on. Had a 4th or even 5th been present before name reservation (that didnât have the worst name in the history of server names) you would find herod with far far less population. Now its basically too late.
They still could help with opening a server later say 2nd week and allow transfers to it from Herod etc. But nothing they do short of deleting Herod will repair their oversight. Now they just have to manage it.
âOpen another realm besides Stalagg, give 48 hours notice, and guarantee Herod-only TRANSFERS with name retention for a full 24-hours after server opening.â
why is it so important to get a specific name to you? if your unwilling to lose your prefered name you deserve multi-hour queues. what if some from Whitemane want to move to the new server and keep their names? since they got to full too so screw them harod gets priority? F that you chose to dogpile, live with your unwillingness to move
