I would happily switch if I could be credited 2 weeks of game time because I cant get my reserved names on a new server.
IMHO, a silver lining here is that it has proven there is undeniably a huge demand for wow classic realms and that maybe we all are underestimating itâs appeal in round 2.
I know I think its fantastic
LOL billion dollar company still canât make proper servers on a 15 year old game.
Just imagine names like:
Nefarian
Vaelastrasz
Eranikus
Doan
Mograine
Celebras
Gizlock
Give us a 4th name slot to create on the new server.
Canât believe there are people who legitimately value server names over game play.
Thank you for the info, Kaivax.
LOL saying something like this means absolutely nothing anymore. I can group up with sally on any server i want even if shes playing from an Oceanic server. If youâre horde youâre horde. If youâre ally youâre ally. Servers arenât even a thing in live anymore. You cater to the 1% and everyone and their moms think that their a mythic raider when in reality 5-10% actually get complete.
Many of us would have gladly moved if we were given a real opportunity to reserve our names again. 2 hour notice means a majority donât have their names from herod, so they wont give it up.
The sad truth is whole groups of friends and guilds arenât willing to sacrifice their char names for the unknown queue times yet. But given an entirely fresh opportunity, they would.
Open another realm besides stalagg, give 3 days of notice for name reservations, and youâll see people actually move off of herod.
Thanks,
Edit: another option is to copy the entire herod realm and let people decide which one they actually will keep their social circle on without name loss. Or you know, snap half.
People are forgetting what a server is in vanilla and what is will be in Classic. A home, something you live in. No one wants a terrible name for their home⌠This is not like live where it doesnât matter what server you roll on since you can play with any other server and phasing shows you random players from all other regional servers.
It is basic human tribalism. Once people roll and level on that terribly named Stalagg server, they will be die hard Stalagg fans, it will be their home.
If you are not considering this, if Blizzard gets this wrongâŚman oh man wait until guilds solidify and your actual in game tribe starts indoctrinating you with their vintage MMO kool aid
So many minds gonna be blown.
This is a big deal.
GROBULUS wants YOU!
1.] Roll out X servers with maximum amount of name reservations being 3.
2.] Realize your initial roll out underestimated player base.
3.] Create new servers and ask the player base to roll on them.
4.] Fail to increase maximum amount of name reservations per account, so even people that are entertaining the idea of trying a different server cannot create characters there.
He had several followers reserve his name FOR him. He played it off like he didnât get his name but in reality he had it all along. It was just a grand scheme to get more people to buy prime subs to âmake him feel betterâ for supposedly not getting his name
Blizzard slaps server
âYou can fit so many classic players in these babiesâ
I can only imagine the quality player drawn to a server due to a cool name and not logical circumstance. Boy oh boy, do I ever want him to be an officer in my guild and decide who should get loot! My moneyâs on the loot going to him for 3 weeks and then him quitting the game to go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure Classic.
Hi Blizzard, im sure your aware but Herod / Whitemane were the servers advertised as getting full - well, Faerlina just hit Full as did PagleâŚ
plan B? more servers inc?
Chief complaint has been lack of any central servers. So you make this new server with the objective of having tens of thousands migrate off of what is going to be by far the best server and then in no way differentiate it to help people decide, especially now that alot of the names are probably taken. Thatâs literally all you had to do was make it Central and boom you just advertised to an entire 1/3 of NA thatâs feeling left out and convinced probably a good 75%+(of Central residents) to move off of Herod.
its literally always been like this. since day 1, the servers with names like illidan have always been more popular.
Blizz will need to add in at least 1-2 more PvP servers before launch, as currently I see all the normal ~ PvP servers at Full or High, with exception for Stalagg sitting at Medium currently.
With what Blizz has already reported of the massive overage on Harod, that alone should be enough to fill up an entire 2nd PvP server.
Whitemane and Faerlina also at bursting (FULL) - hell even PvE Pagle is FULL!
I would think their goal would be to have each server at âHighâ and let that settle over time, as we already know âMediumâ = to more population than the most packed servers back in 2006.
