It would be the players begging to want to be transferred off of high pop. Which ironically they wanted to begin with

They would need a godfather offer for me to even consider it at this pointā¦ Herod is emerging as THE server to be on.

Thereās a reason people donāt want layering, XRZ, LFG, and LFR, they subtract from the feeling of having a community and create an environment where there is no community and you know nobody. I used to know people on my server, now I only see maybe a dozen of people in major cities, you used to lag when you entered Ironforge because it was so busy now the only people there and in most of the cities are just the NPCs or 5-10 people from other realms Iāve never met and it feels horrible, itās fine though because /who tells me thereās over 50 people in the city that I physically cannot interact with.
I can count the number of people that Iāve talked to or seen talk in LFD LFR and in the world in the past 4 years on 1 hand, 2 if you count flaming with most of the interactions being flaming either a hunter for growl, a rogue for pulling, or a tank/healer for being bad at the game.
Despite that, Iām optimistic on the layering for classic, maybe Iāll be able to kill my kobolds and escape Northshire within 12 hours

yeahā¦so I havenāt even set up my sub yet . Iām waiting till its closer to launch and Im sure there is a lot of ppl doing the same thing.

Heh, how would they ever track that? I have no intention of playing on a pvp server. But Iāll make a character on Herod. Then delete him and make one on Stalagg and ask for my 3 free months.
I considered transferring but then the past struck me. Yes I played beta vanilla and also experienced launch day and the havoc it brought. Long queue times and server lag/crash forced my friends and I to transfer to a less populated realm. My leveling experience was great, server life was great until we later found ourselves on a dead server a year or so later. Our original server thrived with life, and looking back we should have endured the launch struggles and never left. Iāll be damn if I make that mistake again.

Thereās a big difference between moving to a new server on launch and transferring to a new server before launch. letās not conflate the two and encourage people to stay on an overpopulated server

Not really. Itās pretty clear at this point that Herod has become THE go to pvp server on the east coast.
Eventually, as the population dips naturally happen over time, the lesser pvp servers will bleed players (especially the newest servers like stalagg) to the more populated server. Itās human nature and happens in literally every MMORPG with servers ever. Once that snowball starts, you canāt stop it.
Even retail wow has about 3-5 servers seen as the S tier servers and everything else is viewed as lesser servers.
I see a lot of people interpreting some of the wording here quite differently.
Are you guys saying that the whole server (not individual layer) will have vanilla player caps from day 1? Would love some clarification.

I would happily switch if i had a way to check that the names i got would still be availible. I fought hard and got super lucky to get them and I wonāt give em up without a fight

Layering is gone.
Faerline has a 30 person queue Herod has a 3000.
Both realms have the same amount of people in world.
If anything it means less PvP for every person in the queue.

Drop your least favorite name on Herod. Go to Stalagg and try to get your most favored name there. If it doesnāt work out come back to Herod.
