They open new servers and offer free server transfers from the full servers to the new servers.
Iām glad Iām not on Herod. And if I were a lone wolf player from Herod, Iād run to Stalagg. I mean, come on? Who cares whatās the server name is a long as youāre gonna be a legend pvper of the server? Haha.
That doesnāt really solve the problem, unless people actually move. Stalagg is still listed as Medium, and hasnāt hit High yet, so I guess people from Herod still arenāt moving over.
If any of your PVP server Horde decide PVP/Herod arenāt right for you, Pagle welcomes you <3 .
They are holding out. Thinking others will move and they wonāt need to.
The sting of long que times will fix that.
.update the for Thanks

Well, see there is a lone wolf strategy Iāve been thinking about for a while. In the early phases and even after that PVP gear is going to dominate for both PVP and PVE. So where do you get the best PVP gear. Itās on a medium or maybe a low pop realm as there is less competition for the PVP ranks/gear. Then when you are PVP rank 12, pay to transfer to Herod and be a god in both PVP and PVE.
This is my groups predicament as well

Thatās exactly how this kind of issue was handled in 2004-2006. At launch in 2004 they vastly underestimated how many people were waiting to play, and servers were crazy over populated. As they opened new servers they offered free transfers.
Same with servers that had huge faction imbalances. They offered free server transfers for the minority factions to the unbalanced servers.
It didnāt always work because as you pointed out, people donāt always want to swap. But Iām 2004-2006 there were times that entire guilds server swapped to find more favorable conditions. The same will be true now. When people log in for 2-3 days with 2-4+ hour log in queues theyāll switch servers.
People are very stubborn and definitely will not switch. regardless of how many blue posts ask them too. The massively overpopulated Herod is here to stay. Stalagg will almost certainly fill up as launch time gets closer because people want to get the most out of their subscription time. Iād wager Eastern pvp servers will need at least 2 more servers at minimum.
3 pvp servers on name reservation day was a huge mistake. anything less than 6 on launch is an even bigger one.
Nice strategy there. Is the server transfer a confirmed thing for Classic servers?
You may have to pay, but being a god is worth it.
Login queues and server crashes are peak vanilla experiences. Do not complain when this happens, this is what you all wanted right? That vanilla experience.
I would suggest a mega-realm.
Otherwise you can have layering forever, or 10,000 people queue. Which in a business perspective, I think a mega-server will make everyone happy and prevent them from quitting. So more money for you Blizz.
Lowballing here I expect atleast 2-3 times more players at release.
You can cry new servers all you want, but many will want to play with their friends who reserved names already.
If nothing is done nowā¦ blizzard underestimating classic could become destructive for the launch experience.
People will stubbornly cling to Herodā¦ that is, right up until they have their first hour+ queue. The consolation server begins to looks pretty good when compared to staring at a login screen all night.

Even if you donāt include the rp-pvp there was 5 pvp servers available the first day of name selection. Just because someone refuses to acknowledge west coast servers doesnāt mean the servers arenāt there.
Didnāt even consider that. Herod is going to be an absolute sheet show.
Donāt Forget, there are still a bunch of people out there who donāt care too much for name reservations and will re-sub on launch day. I have friends who are doing that and I know they are planning to play a lot. Stalagg will fill up come launch.
