Over 500k gold is suddenly not accessible in my guild vault

Sure, when I said I had 8 tickets, I meant I had reopened and talked to a new GM a total of about 8 times. It was only spread across two different tickets. However, each time that I say I still have a problem and attempt to further clarify the remaining issue, I am being responded to by a new GM. It feels like each time I am just starting back at square 1 and nobody is addressing the bottom line. Each GM has responded in a way that doesn’t help me and then marked the ticket closed. I have been reopening them from there and attempting to reclarify the issue.

Just for clarification, there are no GMs on this particular forum. This forum is for players to assist other players, and while we do have some nifty SFAs here, what they can do is quite limited. Perhaps one of them will chime in, but otherwise really the only way to get this fixed is to keep at it with the tickets unfortunately.

You’re correct, the GM’s should be escalating your ticket to a specialist. There was a similar issue someone had on Reddit about withdrawing gold from their guild bank and Blizzard was able to fix it.

Sure, I understand. I am just looking for any type of advice or help with this issue. I will just continue to reopen the ticket indefinitely, I suppose.

I do believe they mean that, from ticket to ticket, they feel like they’re being responded to by a new “GM” (slang), which in reality is likely the truth.

Do you happen to know the name of that reddit post so I could look for it?

I can’t find it, unfortunately. It was about how someone’s guild bank wasn’t allowing members to withdraw gold after a server merge.

Oh, yes, of course. I meant I can literally see that each time I reopen my ticket, it is a different person who responds and then literally remarks it closed without helping me.

I gotcha. I am out of suggestions, but I hope the Reddit thread or a ticket pans out, or someone here looks under the hood. Good luck either way!

Thank you for trying to help!

Frankly, I don’t know if any more will be able to be restored. When a guild is deleted, the contents are mailed to the guildmaster.

Respectfully, the guild has been restored, including all of the vault contents. The only issue that remains pertains to the gold. Therefore, I did not think it was worth giving that aspect of the background to the problem.

Unless the proper protocol for this situation is that the guild be restored (including all of the vault contents) but none of the gold that was in the vault. If that is a protocol that is in place, please let me know where I can find information relating to that.

Restoring a deleted guild is actually a one-off situation and not any sort of “normal” process.

During the process of disbanding a guild, the GM is mailed all the contents of the guild bank including the gold. If the GL then used that gold for something (just speaking hypothetically), then the gold would not be able to be restored as it was spent.

Not saying that’s what happened here, just giving an example.

Perl is correct in that the restoration of the guild at all was already an exception. Once a guild is disbanded, it’s generally a permanent thing.

I see you have reached out in a follow-up ticket. I would not expect to receive the gold back that you are seeking. After so many Game Masters have reviewed the case, including seeking exceptions on your behalf, I’m not confident that anything else will be able to be recovered or it would have been already.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong, but I want to make sure I’m setting an appropriate expectation for you. Best of luck!

Okay, thank you for your response. I would like to comment that the guild was not disbanded. The guild master character was deleted on accident (and then immediately restored), which apparently should not even be possible according to Blizzard support (https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/18792).

I have been informed that the gold will not be returned though.

Random question. Did you undelete the guildmaster and check if the gold was there? Not sure if it’s 1) past the 30-day mail expiry date; or 2) deleting glitched everything and no items were sent to the guildmaster at all (since they were deleted).

Yes, I immediately restored the character because, like I said, it was done in mistake. Over the next day, I regained access to the guild vault contents. The full guild vault was restored but none of the gold. I’m not really satisfied with the result, but it is pretty clear they will not restore the gold for me.
