So i was tanking a SP normal and just clearing the usual packs along the way, not making the massive skips like you might in heroic. I was being badgered by the dps to focus the slaves first and to pull every single pack of mobs in that place. I refused, then got kicked and called a loser and a retard. Am i in the wrong here? ive never been leveling in TBC and had a group fully, 100% clear a low level dungeon for xp.

Clearing normal dungeons completely for rep and exp is pretty common.
The unfortunate truth about the game right now is that the tank is usually the boss, because the tank is the rare commodity out of the group. Everyone else is pretty easily replaceable, the tank is usually not.
When tanks ask the group’s opinion, I always respond with “Tank’s choice” because I need them to continue cooperating in order to gain levels myself.
In this case they got ballsy, and that sucks for you. However… you’re a tank, it’ll take you 35 seconds to find another group.
But yes, full clears are pretty common for maximum experience and reputation per hour.

Yeah I mean like I said, in my head I wasn’t really skipping anything. But I guess they expected every single hostile npc to die. That’s something new to me, I ve never seen that done before. Live and learn I guess. Back to AoE grinding since the xp rates are better.
Full clears were always a thing for those who had something to gain from them.

There are a fair number of entitled players out there who complain about anything and everything. And it’s worse when they are part of the same guild or friends irl, they just crap on everyone because they enjoy it.
But their numbers are finite, I say keep tanking and /ignore them. There are so few tanks running dungeons, they’ll regret their error.

People are only in normals because they want maximum reputation (up to honored). So yes, full clears are usually expected.
I’d just laugh and tell em to have fun finding a new tank just to kill extra trash they didn’t need to begin with.

I can tank normal dungeons with my two handed sword… don’t skip trash when players are rep farming… Be a team player!

when you are the tank you are the literal dungeon master
you decide what to pull and the speedo of it if they dont like it they can wait 2 hours for a tank, while you can get a full group of new idiots in 20 seconds or less
you can also blacklist their guild on your guilds discord so they have to wait even more for anything
Sounds like an ego trip problem.
I have never encountered a tank that acted like that in a dungeon. Nearly all of them ask from the start “you guys want a full clear”? And they are team players.
Acting like an evil dictator is a good way to get g-kicked when you give your entire guild a bad reputation due to your bad attitude.

I’ll full clear as a tank when I feel like full clearing, sometimes you just want to get quests done and get out.
When it comes to CE dungeons, it’s the most inefficient way to get your CE rep to honored anyway.
if your in normals there is only one reason at level 70.reputation and keys. especially slave pens. a couple drop decent gear at lvl 70 like mech,bot,arc,shattered halls,steamvault,slabs but thats it.
sounds like your dungeon master is a pretty terrible dungeon master. if you think a dm’s role is to be a literal god and rule over your players you shouldn’t be dming.
Weird that people don’t know that you can get rep capped with like 5g of unidentified plant parts for pre-70 rep. If you are getting rep from normal slave pens you’re doing something wrong

I’ll be damned if I let a diva tank boss me around.
Thankfully most of my tanks have been normal, kind players in which the party communicates as a team to decide the best course of action.
I’ve had tanks throw fits or flat out ignore when someone, or me, in the group nicely inquires if we could get extra/certain mobs. Dude, all you have to do is say “I prefer not to.” “I don’t have much time.” “I hate this place.” and I am fine with that.
But when a tank thinks they can bully the group because they are the low and behold rare tank?
Nah.
I kick them or leave.
I don’t enable such garbage behavior.
I don’t care who you are. Be nice to others and/or communicate.
Can’t you just turn in plant parts until honored? I have something like 2000 of those and can’t even sell them at vendor prices on the ah.
