Our kitten passed away this morning, wasn’t even 6 months old. Her name was cassiel and was a tuxedo cat, was such a friendly loving kitty that loved to play like kittens do. She died of liver failure. I was worried it was something we did like she ate medication or something, but we cleaned everything so none of that was laying around and the medication we have wouldn’t have done that if it was just a couple she may have ate. But we are sure it wasn’t even that cause our place was completely clean. But even from the first day we got her, she had bad health issues.
The emergency vet my dad took her to last night/early morning said it was likely her liver was bad from the day she was born, and that it was likely genetics. Its very sad. But I guess 1 out of 100 kittens can have problems and lead to the same conclusion. Don’t think we ever had a kitten actually pass away on us. we’ve had sick kitties and one cat we had, had cancer but the vet didn’t think we did anything, just how she was born. Doesn’t make it any less sad though
Someone from the cat adoption place gave us flowers though, which is nice

That’s so sad dude…I am sure y’all gave Cass all the love and affection before she went on to that big litter box in the sky. Losing pets is like losing family.

yeah, she was really well loved. We slept with her downstairs all night, our family would take turns. And spend all day with her. She was getting close to being able to be with our older tuxedo cat permanently, cause we were slowly introducing them and he was getting along really well with her.
Now we are gonna shop to keep ourselves distracted from what happened. It was just pretty sudden and quick, and no one knew it would turn out like this. She had health problems like I said from the first day we got her, but still didn’t expect it to go this bad. Ended up getting little sleep last night and my parents pretty much had none.
Well time to distract ourselves with shopping. Gotta get rodent treats and other stuff, but its mostly going out and being distracted instead of being sad all day and doing nothing.
But she’ll definitely always be in our memory

I lost my dog (Nicky boy) last month and i still have a hard time thinking about it. He was my buddy and the only thing i had left of my mom who died in 2018 of Cancer. Probably doesnt help to hear this, but if it does then im happy to share.

I know how you feel. I had a beautiful korat, a sickly, infected, starving kitten who I rescued and nursed back to health. She was about six months, and she still looked like a kitten of two months.
But she got well, and two years into her little life, (around five months back) she developed pneumonia. Took her to the animal ER, and I never saw her again. Until they sent her remains to me in a wooden urn.
It still hurts, and I’m breaking into tears just writing this. But it hurts a little less as time goes on and I forget her. It also helped that I still have two kitties to care for.

My condolences for your kitty. Losing a beloved pet to any circumstance can be difficult much less to circumstances beyond anyone’s control.
May Cassiel cross safely over the rainbow bridge knowing she was and still is deeply loved.
