This isn’t a casuals versus elite thing. It’s a casuals versus Blizzard, into changing the game into something it is not.
That’s basically my schedule. I can barely do 3 days a week now (only if we’re going really hard in prog) and I dunno how I used to do 4 days a week.
I’m too old man, can’t keep the kids off my lawn and devote that much time to raiding.
Though I do play a lot outside raids, but that’s cause M+ is pretty rad with a couple of mates.
Sheesh enters old man mode despite being in my 30s
Back in my day in EverQuest, our raid schedule was M-Thurs, 7pm-1130pm. Sunday, 1pm-11pm.
We had to walk up hill both ways in the snow to get to our raid. No summoning!
Players can (to a degree) make the content easier or more challenging at will. A casual player could do WQ without any gear but a weapon, just as easily as a M+ player could bring a couple of bad/under-geared players along for a challenge. But most bring the best players they can find, just like most players do WQ in the best gear they can find.
You currently get that.
Moving the goal posts is fun. So now we have restrictions on full sets of bis in every slot as a bar to improve gear for solo content. Bravo. /golfclap
Reminds me of when I set my sights for top 100 US.
I had much more energy and drive during my earlier 20’s.
Considering this thread is constantly asking for BIS gear for “casuals” in every slot, from completing solo content.
Is it really moving the goal posts?
No I really do not. Neither do the other people who have unsubbed. But by all means keep telling yourself that everything is fine.
The only argument I can see, is that the solo/covenant gear was given out too fast.
I guess they shoulda slowed that down.
If solo gear keeps progressing, it nearly instantly becomes on par with heroic raid and m+15 end of dungeon gear. Which to me…is a bit too much.
No. I’m trying to understand where the idea comes from that WoW should allow a solo player to grind their way to the best gear in the game when that has never been present even in Vanilla.
Those sets that have bonuses out in the world should honestly be able to be upgraded more with grind effort.
But i think before they do that, they need to re-add pve based set bonuses from raiding and even M+ to offset it.
Frankly, i like sets though, so any sets are good, give me more sets.
You realize that currently casual gear is closer to heroic / mythic gear from BFA than it is to bis in shadowlands right?
Personally I’m not asking for bis but a bit less of a gap and literally any progression path would be nice.
you framed it as if it WASNT the issue
As a ‘scrub’, I care because it breaks the integrity of game.
It is like giving a person Park Place in Monopoly instead of having them pay for it.
No. But changing the basic structure of the game does.
YES. It very much IS about feeling special and rewarded for one’s efforts. That is it. I’ll go right out there and say it. There’s no getting around it. It’s the exact same thing that applies to pretty much every game out there.
Like, out of genuine curiosity, did you think the mage-tower appearances should have just been handed out to everyone?
I know those are mogs and not player-power related, but just curious.
Player power should come commensurate with the activities you’re doing. Now, while I personally don’t care what some person who only does WQs gets, I fully understand why someone who finally manages to down a hard mythic raid should be rewarded with more power than someone who has never even attempted to do that content or similarly challenging content.
In the state of the game right now, this patch cycle, you can literally get M1-6 level gear purely from your covenants. Getting exalted with the reps gives access to M7 level gear (200).
Are you really asking for Mythic raid gear to do your WQs?
Your logic of “it doesn’t affect you” is outright wrong, especially as someone who is constantly trying to “empathy-shame” people lol. I find it hilarious that you cannot empathize with players who take this game very seriously and try very hard to do the hardest part of content. It does affect people; it affects their feelings. Are you saying their feelings are meaningless to you, as someone who is trying to them them to empathize with you?
Come on, lol.
I have all 36 and I feel like it should still be available to be obtained.
How much of a gap between “no stress/easy solo play” and “the hardest content in the game” would be acceptable to you?
Also known as a “buster”.
Awesome! Not what I meant though, I used the phrase ‘handed out’ not ‘be obtainable’. For sure, even I think the whole temporary stuff is silly. But I do think you should be able to do actually DO the challenge.
They’d have to change the challenge every expansion to update it.
