Other methods to report botting?

On Whitemane (WOLK), there are several fishing bots that have been on the server for over a year, one nearly two years now. I inspected one of them today, a druid named {Removed}'; he just sits on the icebergs out in the ocean and fishes 24/7. The other ‘{Removed},’ a 68 DK, has been on my friend’s list since the start of Wolk. One has fished over a million fish and the other one is around 800k fished. I’ve reported them dozens of times in the last year or two and neither of them get banned. Does the in-game reporting do anything?

You may need to remove the names as you may not name/shame players on the forums.

If you’ve reported them that long ago its either they’re just fanatical fishers …

But if you still have doubt and got more actual evidence other then suspicions you can send an email to Hacks@blizzard.com

First thing never name a player u can do so without nameing and shaming againsts the rules please edit it out.

right click and report is the proper thing yes it does work but blizzard doesnt drop the ban hammer immediately they investigate on there own time and determin if its a bot or a player then action in ban waves.

It does, but it isn’t a magic bullet. There are a lot of factors involved with potential bots. We must be able to verify that they are botting and unfortunately, it isn’t as simple as looking at their behavior and stating, “yep, that’s a bot”. It may be obvious to you when observing in the moment, but we have to back up our actions with verifiable data, that can be looked at after the fact.

Our Hacks team investigates how a potential bot may be working and how it touches out systems so that we can no only deal with the bots that you see, but also for those that you may not.

Yes, some of them may fly under the radar and not be verified for some time, or at all, but every unique report is valuable and helps in the overall task of removing this kind of activity from the game.

Please keep reporting those that you find, and as Forumcat suggested, if you have additional details you can email them to the hacks team directly.
